Moving to the sliding stone door, Rua opened it and stepped through, finding himself in yet another anonymous-looking hallway with a catwalk to the other side suspended over a pool of water. He began walking down it.
"No, we didn't," he said, looking back at the paladin. "And keep closer to us; you don't need to be separated from us if things get worse in here."

"I suppose you're right... But we crossed a similar room a while back. Rather uneventful really." After a slight pause he continued, "What else could happen anyway?"

"I don't know," Rua said, his reply short and simple.
"Anything could happen when it comes to us," Alasea said, frowning. "We've still got those guys from before somewhere in here, and there's the Memphre on the loose. We won't be out of danger until we escape with what we're looking for."

Scept, Hybrid, and Cizos moved sluggishly through the tunnel, the walls too dark for Scept's taste, only lit by Cizos' fire that he kept active at all times. They'd been traveling through it for what felt like hours at this point, and they were beginning to wonder if it was actually going anywhere. "We could turn back here," Hybrid said dryly after a time, half jokingly, half seriously.
"And waste the last hour without seeing what's at the end of this thing? I'm sure it's got to go somewhere," Scept said with irritation, his words quickly countered by Cizos' own irritated growl.
"Unless it's lava," Hybrid added unhelpfully. A moment later, though, the tunnel came to an end, a flat wall blocking the passage from going any farther, but it seemed more purposeful than a collapsed entrance. Too smooth and intricate to be a landfall, "I guess this is me," Hybrid said reluctantly, priming a rocket, "feel free to stand next to the wall so I can take a picture as I add some IQ points to humanity."
Scept rolled his eyes at the comment and covered his ears as the air screamed and heated up, the entire passage shaking tremendously with the blast. The three looked at each other reluctantly, waiting to see which one would drop first.

Tapping his ear a bit Ryo couldn't help but ask, "Did either of you hear that?"

"Hear what?" Rua asked, walking up to the stone door and reaching into the indent in its surface, pulling the lever on it. The slab slid upward into the ceiling, allowing them entrance into the next room.
There was a hint of distress in Rua's face when he entered. Looking about with a sweeping gaze, he took in the details of the chamber--wide and round, completely circular and filled with water. The room was fairly deep--they could barely see the silt-covered bottom, and the ceiling was well over their heads. Set around the perimeter of the chamber was a walkway that went all around the circumference of the room, and four catwalks extended from four points, meeting at a square-shaped platform in the center of the pool, forming a cross. In the four spaces created, separate, oval-shaped platforms extended from the water. Every detail showed that this room was an arena. Likely the same arena that one normally fought against a boss-type creature.
Looking up, he saw a smoky hole at the far end of the chamber. Gritting his teeth, his hands dropped to his Phase Blades. Alasea looked up, and then quickly drew her sword--something else had arrived here.

Glancing past his allies Ryo spotted the hole and let out a slight yell. "Gah! What else could happen? Why did I have to say that?!" He then proceeded to cover his face with his hand and mumble incoherently.

Scept leaned over the hole precariously, eying the scenery below it. "Looks kind of like a boss-room. You know, like from a Legend of Zelda game? Or Resident Evil or Warcraft? Right now though, we seem to be right above the center platform. That's always the safest place for the fight, no?"
"Unless the boss mounts up there and you run around the edges," snickered Hybrid. Cizos gave him an irritated look as his floating mass shifted slightly to grant him a better view. "Make the dragon go first," Hybrid continued, "so we can see if some giant trampoline is going to stop us from splattering over the concrete."
Cracking his neck, Scept checked all his gear as he moved around the edge of the hole, "Not necessary. In every boss fight, you can fall hundreds of thousands of feet into a boss lair and not lose a fraction of your health." Before Hybrid could add that that was only the case if you didn't miss, Scept launched himself over the edge and came floating down onto the floor, his torn boots touching it lightly as the dust raised in a little cloud.
Close behind him, Hybrid touched down a little more forcefully, and Cizos spiraled downward, landing behind the two and glaring around apprehensively. "Well," one of them muttered, "now what."

There was a sound of someone clearing their throat some distance behind Scept, Hybrid, and the dragon that accompanied the two of them. Rua was giving them a flat look as he finished clearing his throat to alert them to their presence.

Scept chuckled at the situation, "Well look who we have here... I see you brought friends with you too. Three on three seems like a fair fight!" Inwardly Scept couldn't help but be worried. The water below them scared him for some reason, like it was the last thing he would ever want to fall into. He hoped that his initial guess wasn't right and there wasn't some sort of 'boss' creature in here. After all, worrying about the other players would be bad enough without having to be concerned with boss of one of the temples of the elements.

By this point, Rua and Alasea had both drawn their weapons and held them out in front of them, preparing for battle. Rua knew that he'd have to switch opponents for this battle--unlike last time, he had no floor to collapse on them so they could escape, and just below them, that water dragon would be superior to all of them.
He grit his teeth in frustration. If only he had a Nova Reactor to regulate to his thruster systems. He'd just have to be careful. He quickly opened up his private messenger system and sent off an PM to his companions.
Ryo, go after the one in the powered armor. Alasea, I want you to handle Scept. He'll be tough with that time manipulation power, but I need to concentrate on taking care of that summoned beast of their's. There's something about it that's bothering me.
- Rua Dragonheart
Alasea's eyes flickered to Rua for a brief second before returning to the battlefield. She understood what he meant.

After reading through the note a grin spread across the paladin's face. He had wanted to get back at the pilot for his vulgar comment and now he had his chance. So he did what any rational person would do. He loudly announced, "Have at you steel behemoth!" Before leaping up in front of the armored suit with the intent to drive his weapon through the cockpit.

Hybrid shifted the mech backwards as quickly it was allow, getting at least a foot away from Ryo. Immediately he retalliated, swinging a massive metal arm straight for the Paladin in an arcing motion. On the other arm, his chaingun began to heat up, spinning into deathly life. Taking another step back Hybrid aimed at the Paladin with the massive weapon and unleashed his own personal hell.
(( OOC: Methinks you should probably attack Scept, R.D., or else he'll go straight for Rua for vengeance. ))

Struck by the massive machine Ryo was easily knocked off the ground. Then came the chaingun. Scrambling to his feet and diving out of the way he had avoided most of the bullets. Now that he wasn't in the line of fire he rushed around to the giant's side and pulled back to take a fierce swing at it's leg.
