The creature growled menacingly as it twisted its weapon around, catching the large sword blade between two of its trident's serrated prongs. Angling the haft of the trident upward, the creature attempted to wrench the sword away from itself, then slid the trident down the edge of the blade, causing a shower of sparks, as it spun around. Sweeping around, the creature swung at Ryo's legs, attempting to trip him up and onto the ground.

Ignoring the sparks and keeping hold of his weapon Ryo nearly lost his balance. Then came the strike at his legs... He was quickly knocked down. Rather than wait in such a vulnerable position Ryo rolled backwards and got into a crouching position.

The creature's trident spun around and shot down at the ground, but Ryo managed to move himself out of the way of the thrust before the weapon impaled him. Yanking the weapon out of the ground and spinning it in its talons, the creature snarled and lunged, slashing down with the trident at Ryo's head.
Alasea stared in shock. Just what was this creature? How could it move so fluidly despite being so damn big?

Ryo was about half way up when he noticed the oncoming attack. So he pulled his oversized weapon above him to match the trident just a few inches from his skull. Shoot, shoot, shoot! I'M being forced to fight defensively? Then a simple idea struck. Placing a hand on the flat side of his blade he attempted to thrust his weapon upward and throw the creature off balance. If it actually worked Ryo would get in as close as he could and deliver a strong downward strike.

The tactic worked, causing the creature to stumble slightly as its trident glanced off of the sword. However, before the paladin could land a lethal blow to it, the monster brought its trident back up and deflected the attack, receiving only a small gash on its leg for its trouble.
The creature growled and kicked out with its foot, intending to knock Ryo back before following up with another strike of its trident.

As a reward for his trouble Ryo was greeted with a swift kick to his unarmored stomach. Which caused him to stumble back out of breath. However that wasn't the end of it. As the creature attempted another strike with it's trident Ryo wrenched around taking a blow to his side but also swinging his giant slab of a weapon at it in the process.

Ryo's sword cleaved through the air with its heavy swing, smashing into the haft of the trident and cutting it in twain, wrenching both halves of the weapon out of the creature's hands. Snarling, the beast jumped back, raising up its claw to continue the battle--the loss of its weapon was of no consequence to it.
Light flared in the darkened recesses of the Sea Temple's crossways chamber, as a red-cored ray of energy sheathed in blue-white plasma cut through the air, incinerating hand and head of the aquatic beast. Alasea fell back with a surprised shriek, falling onto her backside as the creature seemed to freeze in place. The edges of its body erupted in fire, almost like it exploded, and the beam cut off with a sudden sound. The corpse of the monster collapsed backwards.
Alasea looked over to where the beam was, seeing Rua lower the right arm of his Dragon King Armor. Its crystalline and metal surfaces were mostly obscured by dark blood, and Rua himself had an unamused look on his face. "R.D.!" Alasea shouted out at him as he made his way over. "You shouldn't have done that!"
"What?" he said, arching an eyebrow at the girl as he pulled his helmet off. "The thing was about to hurt Ryo."
"He was fine! He had it under control."
"I fail to see how being on one's back with a wound in their side is having the situation under control."
"It was a duel!" she said, folding her arms underneath her breasts while glaring at Rua. He met the stare evenly.
"You think I care? Come on," he said, blowing it off. "We need to get moving. We've wasted too much time here and I've killed more Murlocs today than I care to admit to."
Sighing, Alasea shook her head. She could understand where he was coming from, but he could act a little more contrite on taking away someone else's victory. She turned to Ryo and held out her hand as Rua went to examine the only other door that hadn't been used, which was now unlocked.
"You alright there? I can use Healing Palm if you need it," she said to the unarmored Paladin.

The machine gun fire slowed, the motor in the weapon coming to a grinding halt as smoke filled the air surrounding Hybrid. Scept lay panting in one corner, exhausted from the amount of energy he had emitted in such a short amount of time while still having a large wound in his shoulder. Cizos, in dragon form, still prowled the walls, sniffing at the blood left behind from the scores and scores of murlocs that had been slaughtered in the room over the last several minutes. With a grace that was superb despite his countless wounds from spears and his aches from poisons, the dragon glided back over toward Scept and Hybrid, landing neatly.
Scept spoke up for the group, "It looks as if our route will be toward wherever the murlocs came from. Since the temple isn't just crawling with them from the outside, they must burrow pretty deeply into the temple. That hole in the center of the floor will probably lead us to wherever we need to go, and hopefully provide a shortcut past the others here. A grunt from Hybrid and a snarl from Cizos signified approval, and with an effort, Scept stood up and pushed his way toward the tunnel that had become more and more apparent as more and more murlocs had streamed out. "Well," he said, working up some confidence, "let's not waste any more time."

As the creature seemed to explode Ryo started to inch back with his sword held in front. Despite his initial shock he quickly calmed down when he sighted Rua. He gave a slight shrug to their argument until Alasea spoke. "If it's not too much trouble." He replied as he rose to his feet with a bit of help. "It's good to see him in one piece."

(OOC: Too many delays on my part. Skipping to the end~)
Some time later, Rua triumphantly pulled the third and final Water Key from the grasp of a truly gigantic Murloc, holding it out for his two comrades to see.
Alasea, however, wasn't quite amused, looking at the floor with her arms spread out.
"I have bowel in my hair," she spat, glaring at the dead creature.
"Well, I did try to warn you that it wouldn't be that great a plan," Rua said, placing the key in the inventory. Behind him, the corpse began to dissolve into nothingness.
"I think I need a minute alone," Alasea grumbled, moving over to the edge of the platform to wash herself off.

Over in the corner Ryo surfaced from what appeared to be a large pile of guts, flesh and, whatever else had been torn from the giant Murloc. After spitting out whatever had gotten stuck in his mouth he gave a weak cheer. "What you two just did was indescribable! It's a good thing you'll never have to do that again."

"God, I certainly hope we don't have to," Rua muttered, looking off to the side. "That's not something I'd like to repeat... ever."
Alasea returned shortly, her hair now wet and her body, clothing, and armor devoid of blood and Murloc entrails. "R.D., dear?" she called sweetly to her boyfriend, immediately putting him on edge.
"Yes?" he replied hesitantly.
"You're not getting any for a month."
Rua Dragonheart, a hero of the Beta Test that many people found fearless in the face of danger, winced at the girl's sweet tone of voice.

Ryo started to chuckle until the actual meaning finally struck him. He then proceeded to shake his head violently until he calmed down. "So erm.... Ahem! That's uh..." Trailing off he quickly found himself at a loss for words.

"Let's... just go," Rua said, waving it off. He started towards the exit of the chamber. "We need to find the door these keys unlock. And I hope to find it before the Memphre finds us again."
"Oh, god," Alasea muttered, increasing her pace. "I do not want to get caught off-guard like that again."
"You're telling me," R.D. said. The blood-stained bandage around his leg showed for it, causing him the slightest of limps.

"Oh yeah... We never did fell that beast did we?" Ryo surmised. Carelessly following a few yards behind he started to hum to himself glancing around every few moments.
