Before the judge had a chance to slam his gavel, Phoenix had decided the only appropriate course of action.
"YOUR HONOR! At this time, the defense would like to request a witness after this hearing! May we get permission to gain access to the Angels to summon Adam Kovarik to the stand?"
If Kite couldn't do it, Phoenix could, and he was going to take his chance.

"I have no problem with it if the lawyer says it, Mr. EDgeworth, ready Mr. Kovarik for the stand during the recess please." THe Judge said as he slammed his gavel.
"Nice save..." Kite said to Phoenix as he got up and stretched for a moment.

And how am I supposed to ready a little prick of a witness if I have no idea where or who he is? Edgeworth said, making a light bow to the judge, before walking out of the court room, walking slightly limp and leaning heavily on the walking stick. God I hope this will be over soon.

The baliff released Kite from his cuffs, and motioned for him to follow Phoenix out into the defense lobby.
"So, who is this Adam, Mr. McKnights?" Phoenix asked. Requesting a witness he knew nothing about could hurt this case if he didn't have at least a small grasp on the situation.

"Well, he's not a dear friend for that matter, but i'm pretty damn sure he knows what happened, I saw his satellite over Minervum that night, that means he must have been in town, and his house overlooks this alley, we have to take a chance..." Kite said.

"And supposing he doesn't know anything? Do we have any plan of attack as a backup?" Phoenix's hopes had dropped once more. There seemed to be only the slimmest chance of a victory now...and it rested on a total stranger.

"I"m still thinking, but for now we have to think of this witness as a last chance," Kite said unphased by this whole mess.

(OOC: That reminds me. BD, I need at least a basic outline of things and what really to do. I mean, you dragged me into this, allright, but then I need to know what the heck is going on. >___> I'm all for having Edgeworth keep going with how he acts at current, but I wouldn't mind making him look a bit more professional.)
Edgeworth stepped outside the courtroom and looked about the hallway, to see if the 'witness' he had to take in was there. When he did not see anyone who could be that witness -- knowing that the few people he saw there worked there -- he walked across the hallway and opened a door and looked into the small room behind it. The witness should be waiting here. Thought Edgeworth, but the room he was looking into was dark, no lights were lit.

Meanwhile, somewhere in the Administrator Tower in the core, a young man in a dark red uniform stepped forward towards a pair of Angels.
"Okay," he muttered, looking at both of them warily. "Why the hell was I summoned here?"
"You've been called in as a witness to a murder," one of the Angels explained, "The trial is currently in recess, in order for us to find you."
Adam sighed and rubbed his temples with his fingers. "Okay," he growled, "Tell me honestly. Did Areni put you up to this?"
"No sir," the other Angel said, "Miss Areni and Miss Maya are not capable of convincing us Angels to play pranks for them."
"Well that's reassuring," Adam said, sighing. "Alright. How do I get there?"
The two Angels shifted to the side and opened up a portal to the Room. "Please, step through here," one said, gesturing to the portal. Adam rubbed a cuff and stepped through the portal, appearing in the court area of the Room. As the portal shut behind him, Adam realized he probably should have asked for details on this trial.

Phoenix sighed, losgin hope once again.
"Our recess is up...better get back into the courtroom..." The lawyer felt his heart drop deep into his stomach as he started to open the solid oak doors, ushering for Kite to follow him.

Kite followed so reluctantly that he might as well have been walking Death Row.

Edgeworth then walked into the court room again and walked over to the judge's bench, "Excuse me, Your Honour, but it appears that the witness is late, as he is not seated in the waiting room." He said behind his hand in a soft tone to the judge. "Should we proceed with the case?"

"OBJECTION!" Phoenix yelled as he entered the court room, catching the attention of everyone.
"The witness is the key to this entire case, and he'll be here shortly!" Phoenix noted as he finally reached the defense bench, smirking at Edgeworth.
