Hello all. This is the thread in which I will post in non-regular intervals my newly started fanfiction project: The Legend of Zelda: Shadows of the Gods. I won't actually post in chapters, rather in chapter-parts. After a couple of updates, four, five, maybe more, a chapter will probably be finished. Anyway, go on read, and enjoy!





Chapter One: Unkindredship Of Kin


With a loud bam sound, the young boy fell onto his butt, before rolling over several times, until he stopped by hitting the wall. A small wooden sword landed in the ground several yards away from him.

“Aaahhh!” The child cried out.

“Watch yer step!” A fairly small man with greying hair said to the child in a semi-demeaning manner. The man was wearing a full-body armour made of sturdy leather, and he wielded a wooden sword in his right hand.

“Come on, get up!” The man urged the boy, who slowly got onto his feet, tears standing in his blue-green eyes, with which he looked at the man with a look of hurt on his face, as if he meant to say ‘No, I don’t want to.’

The man seemed to understand this, but his mood didn’t seem to improve any bit because of it. “Oh, fine!” He said loudly, so that all people within the courtyard of the castle where they were, “Why don’t ye just go sit on the bench there. Zan!” He shouted.

Whilst the first boy, a young child of roughly 13 years of age with blue-green eyes, a dark blonde hair, and wearing a sleeveless white shirt and dirty tan-coloured pants, sat onto a bench a safe distance away from the man armed with the wooden sword, the gaze of that same man turned away from him.

From underneath the shadows of a large, unnaturally white tree, that looked mostly like an ash tree, which stood in the middle of the courtyard, stepped forward another boy. A lad seemingly of about the same age as the first one, with a slightly paler skin, and raven-coloured hair and violet eyes.

“Yes, sir Torian?” The second boy politely asked.

“Zan, get over here.” The man, apparently named Torian, said to the boy, whose named seemed to be Zan. “Show yer brother some real sword-fightin’ skills.”

“As you wish.” Zan replied to the man, though seeing by the expression on his face, he did not seem too happy with being asked to do such an exercise like sword-fighting.

Zan catched a wooden sword Torian threw at him, and loosely spun it around in his hands before facing his tutor. Torian smiled a little at the boy, before he lunged forward and made a thrusting move with his wooden sword. Zan quickly evaded the strike by side-stepping and hitting Torian’s sword with his own. Quickly after that he made a slashing movement with it ad Torian’s abdomen, but the man managed to evade it by jumping backwards. With a smirk, Torian made a few diagonal slashing movements, whilst he circled around Zan. Zan, looking for an opening, and still trying to watch out for not getting hit, was surprised when suddenly Torian changed his attack pattern and turned around 360 degrees, before making a stabbing thrust at Zan. Zan, surprised, tried to evade it, but tripped and fell backwards, posing a great opportunity for Torian, who put the tip of his wooden sword against Zan’s chest.

“Dead.” He said grimly, but the smirk on his face and the look in his eyes showed nothing less from satisfaction. To his standards, taking into account Zan’s age, he must’ve found that his student had done very well.

I started on it a while back. Decided I might post a bit of it every once in a while.

You mean Morph has done things like this before? There was a reason why I asked that question earlier. When I saw this I was a little happy to know I'm not the only one making thier own zelda thing. Mine has a strange title, but once you know the storyline it will all make sense. I've been making mine since around November. The Legend of Zelda: Queens Of Hyrule. I made this , because I noticed you never see Zeldas mother the queen. And yet you dont see any others. This of course beeing before they showed thier first queen in Twilight Princess. But, enough of my zelda thing. Go and post more Morph.

Yep. I made a few MMBN fics, also. Continuing from where I left off:



Torian stepped backwards to allow Zan to stand up again. “Hmf, I just wasn’t in the mood today.” Zan said, as if he apologized, but the look on his face betrayed feelings of annoyance, and slight anger.

“Surely ye were not.” Torian said agreeable, nodding at Zan. He turned his head and pointed his wooden sword at the first boy, who was sitting on the bench. “Have you paid attention, Link? You can learn a lot from your brother.”

The boy, Link, turned his head away from Torian. He felt a little offended by his words, as if he was a good-for-nothing dumb little kid.

“Okay, come at me again!” Link heard Torian command his sibling. With a sigh that went unheard by the man, Zan picked up his wooden sword to start again. Link didn’t pay any attention to them. He wanted to go away from here. That’s why young Link already wasn’t sitting on the bench anymore, but instead was walking out of the courtyard, through the gate of the castle, over the bridge that spread the gap between the castle grounds and into the fields.

Link slowly strolled through the grass, not really paying attention as to where he was going. He was forced to look up when he walked into a tree and fell to the ground, however, and that is when he discovered that he had walked a little ways into a forest. Link remembered his father telling him that the castle was built in-between the forest and the village. He failed to remember the name of the forest however. The word “deku” vaguely came to mind, but that was everything he could come up with. It probably didn’t matter anyway.

As his explorative nature boiled up within him, Link walked further into the forest. He hadn’t been here before, or at least, not alone. His father or a guide had always been with him, and usually Zan had been accompanying him as well. This was the first time he had been alone in the forest, or any forest for that matter.

After Link had walked a while, and the sky had starting to become darker, he decided that it might be better for him to turn around and go back to the castle, when suddenly his ear caught the sound of something. It was… music.

Going into the direction of the sound, the melodious tune grew louder, until Link found himself looking at an open spot in the forest. Looking for the source of the music, he saw a girl garbed in green sitting on a tree stump. He found out that it was the girl who was making the music, as she played on an ocarina. He stared at her from behind a couple of bushes, sidling up to a big tree. The tune the girl was playing seemed familiar to him, as if he had heard it before. No… he had heard it before! Only someone else had been playing it that time, he was certain of it. He looked for a way to get a better view of the girl. Maybe she was the same person as the last time he had heard someone playing the song.

He found a sturdy-looking low branch, and tried it out by setting one foot on it. It bend a little, but didn’t break. He took a hold of a higher branch above his head and put his second foot on the branch.

Still no good view.

He looked for another branch, and when he found one, he put his foot on it, grabbed a second, higher branch, then put his second foot on it. Still were leaves blocking his sight. He climbed another branch higher, and another, but in his haste, he forgot to check the safety and thickness of the branches, and at the fourth branch, a noise erupted from the base of the branch, and moments later, Link found himself lying on the ground, after a not too long fall.

I dont understand. You said Zan was dead now hes alive?

No, that was sword practice. Torian said "dead" because Zan would have been dead by then if it had been a real sword fight to the death.

You have opened my eyes. Thanks. You can continue.

Snap. He thought. He had landed outside of the cover of the branches and bushes.

The music of the ocarina had stopped. The girl blinked, looked at him. Link slowly got up, looking back at her. She had deep brown coloured hair and green eyes and was probably about his age, maybe a year older tops. She was dressed in green and tan coloured clothes, blending in with the surroundings a bit.

“Oh.” The girl said, blinking again. “I didn’t know I had an audience.” She said to Link, giving him a smile a moment later.

“Ehhh…” Link didn’t know what to say to her.

“Hello there,” The girl continued, “what’s your name?”

“Ehhh…” Link was slightly hesitant to answer the question, still feeling a bit embarrassed because of his actions. “Link.” He then said. “Hyeah, Link.” He said a second time, more confident and firmly.

“Link, huh?” The girl replied cheerfully. “I haven’t seen you here before, are you from outside of the forest?” She asked.

“Eh, hyeah.” Link replied. “I… I live at the castle.”

The girl rose an eyebrow and tilted her head a bit. “Castle?” She said, as if the word was completely alien to her.

“Hyeah, Recht Castle.” Link said.

The girl still stared at him with a blank look. She didn’t seem to get it at all.

“Big building, made out of bricks, big as a forest?” Link tried.

The girl shook her head. It was clear she had never seen, or even heard of a castle before. “I don’t think I know anything about these castle things.” She said.

Link sighed. Oh well, it didn’t matter anyway.

“Say…” He started, “is that ocarina yours?” He asked, pointing at the instrument in the girl’s hands.

Something tells me this is a long story. But, a long story can be intresting. Continue.

It takes a while to post all that of which he posts. Be patient. It would take anyone a while to make a post that big.
