"We don't have time to listen to you bitch," Adam said angrily. "I want to get out of here, give our reports, and get the hell out of this tower. I won't let you waste that time by being a childish brat."
With that harsh statement, Adam activated his flight pack's thrusters and ripped his way out of the sand's grip. He hovered just above the sand and moved forward, grabbing Areni underneath her arm and using his strength and the flight pack to pull her out of the sand with one arm. With the other, he armed his Napoleon cannon and fired a wide swathe of superheated plasma energy, causing the sand to fuse into a thick sheet of glass. He set Areni down on it and then landed, remaining silent and returning the glare he'd obviously be getting.

...however, instead of a glare, Areni decided to go for a full physical treatment, and moved in to give Adam a full-force kick in the groin, after which she intended to hit him up his nose with her fist. And then a headbutt for dessert, after which she would finally give him the glare he had expected while saying "That's what you get for ignoring what I'm saying!"

Adam figured that something like this would happen--so after he sidestepped the kick and grabbed Areni's wrist as her fist came up to strike him. Using her inertia, Adam pivoted and threw the girl away from him. "Are you done?" he asked.

(OOC: YOU JUST RUINED A TOTALLY GOOD MOMENT. >=O)
As Areni laid in the sand, her mood did not change for the better. she slowly rose up and brushed away some locks of hair that had fallen over her eyes, her back facing Adam. She really tried to remain calm, and succeeded only fairly. "Yeah, I'm done." She said, her voice slightly quivering. "Totally done." She added, before making a near-180-degree turn and walking past Adam towards the door they had come through.
"You're on your own now, you SOB."

(OOC: He didn't throw her with enough strength to send her to the ground, but okay. >_>)
"Are you always like this towards people who try to help?" Adam said. "I didn't see you coming up with any ideas on how to get out, and all I did was pull you out of the sand. It's not like I flew you across the desert."

"If you really want to know, no, I am not always like that towards people who are trying to help." Areni said. "But then again, people who are trying to help usually aren't being foul-mouthed bastards to me most of the time, nor do they have the tendency to break into flight at high speeds with a high possibility of death." She said, making furious arm gestures as she spoke. "Besides, do you think you know my father and how he thinks and what he might throw at us? Well?"

"Well, if my memory serves me, I tried to save your life from that collapsing tunnel, and you slapped me for it and treated me like shit since," Adam countered, "And no, I know I don't. But I'm not afraid to face the challenge."

"I never asked you to save my life in the first place." Areni replied. "And the slapping was for nearly killing me while trying to do so." She looked towards the other side of the room, where they were supposed to be going if they wished to meet up with Gahm. "Anyways, you should just go there. And like the secretary said, beware of the leopard." She said. She shook her head a little and turned around again, taking a few steps before resting her hand on the handle of the door through which they had come. "Just be careful. Then you'll probably be alright."

"Hmm," Adam said noncommitally, "You have fun."
The wings opened up on his flight pack, and when the thrusters ignited, brilliant violet-colored wings of light burst out as he took to the air and shot forward over the sands.

As soon as Adam had flown off, Areni turned the handle, and went through the door. After having shut it behind it, she sunk to the ground, leaning against the door. The secretary looked up from her work for a moment, quirked a brow, and decided not to pay any further attention to Areni, after the latter had made a waving gesture, as if to blow the subject away. Areni then, in a moment of uncertain feelings, locked the door, and remained sitting on the ground, leaning against the door. She would probably get up in a couple of minutes, and then find a different way to find her father.

(OOC: Time-skip, of course.)
After traversing many perilous and frustrating rooms of puzzles, Adam wiped the sweat from his brow and leaned up what he hoped was the door that would finally lead to Gahm's office.
"God damn leopards," he growled as he used some recovery potions on himself and folded the Arondight, putting it back in the back rack. He turned around and opened the door.

Adam ended up in a rather small room, one that looked like an old gym that had it's walls become covered with plants, vines and flowers. As soon as the door shut, a growling noise erupted from the far side of the room.
"Who disturbs the slumber of the Beast?" An unearthly voice spoke up, yet the speaker did not reveal himself, if it was a him, at least.
"Speak up! I haven't got all day you know."

"I do," Adam said, not perturbed in the slightest, "Adam Kovarik. And I can take all the time I want, after having to deal with that woman for as long as I did."
Adam looked around, looking relaxed, yet keeping a firm grip on his Karasawa Rifle.

"Oh, eheh, sorry." The voice spoke. "Didn't know you had marrige-trouble. The bosses got 'm too sometimes, eheh."
The snapping sound of a branch being broken by pressure forced upon it, possibly by a foot or paw, sounded half a dozen yards to Adam's left.
"Say, why don't you come closer? Lemme get a good... look at you..."

"Nah," Adam said, scanning the forestry carefully. "You should stop being lazy and just come on out yourself."
That's either more leopards, he thought as he searched, Or Gahm trying to play some sick mind game.
Adam spread his legs out into a ready stance, relaxing himself, waiting for the moment in which he'd most likely need to fight.
After seeing Areni, I wouldn't put it past the old coot.
