Artifact/Weapon Name: Phase Blade
Artifact or Weapon: Weapon
Type of Artifact/Weapon: Combinable Sword
Appearance of Artifact/Weapon: An elegant, expertly crafted sword hilt with a small, flouting crossguard on top. A small, oval-shaped crystal hovers just above the crossguard, and with a brush on a certain part of the weapon, the crystal extends into a long, crystalline blade. Another brush of the area will cause it to retract again. The hilts are almost always colored black, but the blades can come in a multitude of colors, such as blue, red, or yellow, and styles, such as straight, curved, long or short.
Origin of Artifact/Weapon: Phase Blades are the personal weapons of guards of the Isle, the central gathering zone of all knowledge (The central core terminal of Ymaggion.). Phase Blades have been known to show up in the normal world, but are extremely difficult to find and secure.
Special Abilities of the Artifact/Weapon: Phase blades are powerful weapons that are indestructible—they never need sharpening, and will never break. The blade of these kinds of weapons makes a miniscule, supersonic vibration, allowing for extremely powerful cutting ability--most normal materials such as steel, iron, and titanium, cannot stand to it, but magic-infused metal such as Mythril can stand up to it. Due to the unique design of the weapon, Phase Blades are virtually weightless.
Certain Phase Blades have the unique ability to combine with a second Phase Blade, creating one of two new weapons. The first is the Phase Lance—created by joining two matching Phase Blades at the pommel—a double-bladed sword with blades on either end of the extra-long hilt. Phase Lances are often used when fighting multiple opponents when surrounded. The second is the Phase Scythe—created by crossing the Phase Blades between blade crystal and crossguard and activating both with a scissoring motion—a massive, large-bladed greatsword, with a blade three times as thick and 1 ½ times as long. Phase Scythes are mainly used against a single opponent, and are very dangerous due to their extremely light weight.
