Well guys, as some of you know I've been back into writing recently and have been doing a Smash Bros. fanfic. Well Smash Bros. like. It has more non-nintendo characters, so its a bit more interesting. Well here's the first few chapters. And I assure you, this will be completed.
Well here ye be!
It was a sunny day upon the coliseum; the coliseum similar to a roman one, used by the gladiators. There the floor was made of sand and the sand as high as the clouds it seemed. It was easy to see that each spot was taken in the stands. On the floor of the arena were some large windows with bars to keep the fighters from tripping on them. They were mostly out of the way as well. Down in the arena stood man, who wore a velvet robe and walked with a giant two hander, treating it as if it were a staff. He held the golden hilt and came to the center of the stage. His long auburn hair and facial hair stood out.
“Here we are folks! Welcome to the Battle of Legends!” yelled the man.
“My name is Zeer, and today will be day that can only be seen once in a life time, where warriors all over the world shall come and fight for the right to be the very best in the world!” Zeer yelled again and the crowd cheered.
“Are you ready?!” Zeer asked the crowd, they answered with a roaring cheer.
“Then here we go!” The crowd cheered still as the first round was about ready to begin.
In the basement of the coliseum, there were barred windows to watch over head. There all the fighters who entered checked on their weapons. One stood, he wore a leaf green cap and matching tunic. His crystal eyes looked around at all his possible opponents. He moved a strand of dirty blond hair and tugged on the strap that held the sword behind him, it clanged silently against the metal shield. He walked, slowly, the shadows of the basement proving to make it difficult for the boy to walk to the entrance to the arena difficult. He was smart however to be close to his entrance and only assumed his foe would go to their’s.
This foe indeed walked his way to their entrance to the arena. This boy, with fiery red eyes, scanned the people around him as his blue armor clanged silently as he walked. The gold trims stuck out to make it easier for him to see. His own sword rested in its sheath at his waist. He stepped over a tail and found the entrance, the sun reflecting off the crown that sat on his head, matching his armor. He placed a palm on his sword’s hilt and walked up the steps and turned to see the first on the other end. It was much easier to see them now that both stood in the arena.
“Our first match,” Yelled Zeer, “is between two old favorites, Roy who stands on the left and Link on the right!” Zeer introduced holding a hand out to each on their respective sides from him. He then stepped beckoned them both to come closer to him, his expression going from excited to serious. They walked closer to the man, eyeing the other cautiously.
“I know you both know me, the owner and referee of this arena. But for traditions sake, my name is Zeer. The rules are: that there is to be no jumping into the crowd for the sake of their safety, also do not perform anything that may jeopardize their safety. Am I clear?” Zeer explained, they nodded, “And I shall stop the match as I see fit, but if one of you die, that is not on my hands but of your own for entering this fight in the first place.” He then stepped back.
“Now you may,” He raised a hand, “begin!” He shouted and a gust of wind came from his hand that dropped and in that second he turned to smoke and disappeared. He then reappeared at the edge of the arena.
Link, quickly threw back his hand drawing his master sword from the sheathe on his back. The sword’s image was ever so famous, the purple cross guard that curved up on both sides. In the center of the blade laid a triad, the Triforce, the force of Link’s sword and courage. He also brought out his Hyrulian shield, the front being mostly blue, with the designs of that Triforce on the top and a design similar to a bird covered the most. Roy responded by drawing his own sword, recently named Flamberge. The cross guard was gold and curved up as well, with an emerald in the center of the cross guard.
There wasn’t a moment before the two clashed, Link shouted as he jumped into the air and brought his sword down to hit Roy’s head and deal a good bit of damage. However, Roy had fought Link for years and would have assumed he was better than this, though his tactics wouldn’t change just because of pity. Roy brought Flamberge up and blocked the heavy strike. Then instantly the sword turned a blaze. The sword then flashed, forcing Link’s arm and sword to the side, Roy gave a shout and slashed Link strongly across the chest. Link tumbled back, before finally catching himself on his hands and knees. He looked up just in time to see Roy charging him and then slashed at him again. However Link was quick enough to hold up his shield to block the incoming attack. Link responded with two quick slashes, both hitting home on Roy’s armor. Link then quickly followed up with a volley of stabs, each thrusting at a high, mid, then low point.
This caught Roy in a bad situation, and already. He grunted and winced from each thrust that hit his armor and past that even. Finally he swung his sword randomly, colliding with Link’s. Roy’s feet touched the ground, and he had a moment of relief before he felt Link push on Flamberge. Roy then pulled his sword back, allowing Link to overcorrect, Roy then spun his sword at his side before thrusting it forward and then slashing upward to knock Link in the air. Roy then slashed once quickly, juggling Link slightly and then jumped up, his sword turning ablaze once more and with each inch of the sword that hit Link an explosion of fire erupted from the sword. Roy then slashed horizontally at Link while in the air, forcing the other warrior to the ground. Link landed on his back with a grunt of pain and Roy landed with a proud smirk on his face.
Then suddenly a boomerang hit Roy in the face, forcing him to stumble back from the sudden hit, and before Roy could tell what was happening, Link had come and slashed him twice again, then stabbed him once, strongly. Roy was about to hit the ground when he felt pulled at Link. He could feel a chain around his leg, Link’s hookshot. Roy was then being held by the collar of his shirt that sat under his armor. Link flashed him a smirk and tossed Roy above his head and as he fell, spun rapidly, his sword being surrounded in a blue magical light. Roy soared and slammed into the ground, losing Flamberge in the process and rolled several feet. Link retrieved his shield from his back and readied himself incase Roy got up.
Roy groaned and pressed his hands on the ground, slowly picking himself up. He coughed a bit, feeling a small trickle of blood from his mouth and drip from his chin. He finally stood, panting a bit. Link wasted no time and ran at the flaming swordsman and tried to swing at him with a slow but power dashing slash. Roy was able to dodge it by rolling out of the way behind him. Roy then dove for his sword, quickly snatching the hilt. He then dashed back at Link who was currently coming at him. They both swung, the Master Sword and Flamberge both making contact with a loud clang. They both swung again, again a clang. Then for another several minutes they blocked each other’s attacks, while attempting to attack on their own, all leading to the same result.
Finally, Roy had something else planned. He ducked down as Link tried an attack towards his chest. Roy then thrusted his sword straight up, the blade only an inch away from Link’s face, then the blade gave off several explosions that forced Link into the air as they came up the sword as it rose. Roy then jumped into the air and slashed downward to send Link to the ground on his back. Roy then held his sword over his head as he fell. His body glowed white hot as he landed next to the recovering Link. Link then quickly charged at him, knowing what was to come. He needed to reach Roy before he was done charging his energy, but…just as Link swung his sword, just before it hit Roy’s chest, Roy brought down Flamberge and a mighty explosion came from the sword, Roy roaring in unison. Link flew from the range of the explosion and into a coliseum wall. He shouted as he hit the wall, dropping both his sword and shield before falling to the ground, unconscious. Roy stood panting as he recovered from the attack that took so much energy to use that it strained him each time. He was easily sore now.
Zeer shook his head to Link and turned to a puff of smoke once more before standing next to Link. He bent down to the young warrior and lifted his head; it was obvious he was no longer capable of fighting. He turned to Roy and nodded.
“The winner is…Roy!” Zeer announced and the crowd cheered.
“Roy’s our boy! Roy’s out boy! Roy’s our boy!” The crowd chanted.
Roy gave a sigh of relief; he was able to get past the first round. He waved his hand to the crowd around him and sheathed Flamberge. He continued to wave weakly before finally coming to the basement once more. There, he was greeted by the other warriors with several ‘Good jobs, good fight’ and such. He smiled to them all.
“Thanks but, now…I think I need a nap.” Roy said as he then walked to a door. On the door was a red cross.
Zeer then raised his left hand, holding the large two hander into the sky. The crimson sword reflected the sun brightly. He then slammed the weapon blade first into the ground. It was a signal to the next two fighters to get out and get ready to fight.
In the basement the two warriors had just exited the darkness and into the light. The right, stood tall and spun a gun in his right hand. They wore a green armor, it was so polished that it seemed to glow from the rays of the sun. Their orange visor that covered his face allowed him to not be hurt by the sun’s rays. The warrior looked around the arena, the one he wasn’t familiar with whatsoever. They gazed at the all the people around him, before allowing the weapon to stop, showing it was actually an SMG, the warrior held the weapon firmly on the handle, their trigger finger away from the trigger. They then drew the one on his left hip and held it firmly. They looked ahead to see their opponent.
Before the gun wielding warrior was another armored body. This one was more of an orange with red on the torso and yellow on the knees down. The other warrior pressed something on the side of their head. Within the green visor scans were produced on the warrior before them. Several things came up describing weight height and what they held. In this case the warning level rose to near maximum. The warrior held up their right arm, there was no hand, but a cannon. After Zeer looked at them both his teeth grit. Dangerous looking these two were. However the crowd was getting impatient.
“Ladies and gentlemen, I give you on my right The Master Chief and on my left Samus Aran!” The crowd roared in anticipation. Then, reluctantly Zeer beckoned the two to him. They came to the center where Zeer now stood, walking fast enough to satisfy the crowd. Once they were in the center, Zeer’s voice was fiercely firm.
“Now, I am Zeer, the owner and referee of this coliseum and I am responsible for these people’s lives. I will allow you to fight with the weapons you’ve chosen, but I am warning you, keep it away from my audience. If just one dies, there will be hell to pay. Am I clear?”
“Sir, yes sir.” The Master Chief turned to Zeer and nodded, despite the fact he was indeed taller. Samus merely nodded, not taking her eyes off of the Master Chief.
“I am putting my trust in you both.” Zeer finished and stepped back. He raised a hand.
“You may begin!” He shouted before returning to his previous position in the same manner.
The Master Chief then quickly locked his gaze upon Samus who had already shot a power beam shot at him. The Chief began to strafe to the side allowing the beam to just barely pass him. He aimed both SMG’s at Samus, pulling the triggers as Samus began her own strafing movement in the opposite direction. Bullets kicked up dirt all around the floor and the small power beam shots hit the walls denting them and the ground kicking up more dust. Soon enough Chief ran out of bullets and replaced the SMG’s on his hips. He then reached back for a blue ball, and pressed a button. The ball glowed and the Chief then tossed it to where he assumed the bounty huntress would run. Seeing his plasma grenade, Samus skid to the stop, just to be hit by the explosion. She was rattled from it, but not hurt too badly.
The Chief then appeared from the dust the grenade kicked into the air and punched Samus’s helmet, knocking her to the ground. What a punch, was what hit Samus’s head, other than the punch itself. Then she quickly glowed and began to shrink until she was the size and shape of a basket ball. Surprised by this the Chief instantly tried to catch her, but she ran off and in her wake, was bombs. The explosions forced the Chief’s shield to grow weak as he hit again and again by the four bombs. Dazed he stumbled back before grabbing a second grenade. He looked around and saw a missile coming at him from behind. The Chief was hit in the chest and flew back a foot before making a loud crash on the ground from his heavy armor. His grenade flew in the air from the hit. Samus was busy charging a power beam and didn’t notice the grenade until it landed on her shoulder. She heard a small hiss before felling great push and some pain. Her visor cracked slightly from the explosion and her suit was weakened further as she slid across the ground.
The Chief slowly began to stand now. His shields began to rise around him from his feet up as the shields replenished around his beaten armor. He then looked over to the place where Samus landed, she was gone. Chief swung himself around and around, not able to see her. He drew an SMG, quickly loading it, then did the same with the other, holding both in his hands. He swirled around, looking and looking for any sign of the bounty huntress. Nothing…wait! There was a flash of light and the Chief quickly shot there, only to hit the wall. Then he felt a great tug and found himself going skyward.
Samus had activated hyper mode and with it, brought speed, great speed. But now she had the Master Chief in the grasp of her grapple beam and was hurling the Chief through the air. He landed with a great crash of dust. Then she slid the helpless Spartan across the ground to force him into a wall. Thud! There the wall cracked slightly and the crowd there nearly lost their balance from the impact. Samus drew the chief to her with a mighty tug. He came sliding across the ground. She jumped, aimed down and fired an ice beam as he came past her. The chief was frozen in ice. Seeing this Zeer raised a hand. He assumed the Spartan could fight no more.
“The winner is Sa-“ Just before the referee could finish the ice quickly was broken through with a blue energy sword. The two pronged blade had melted its way through as the Chief activated the one next to his where his SMG’s once sat. It melted some ice and allowed him to break through. He broke the ice some more before standing and quickly lunging at the bounty huntress who was on her last legs because of the extremes of Hyper Mode. She was pushed hard and far from the force of the sword combined with the Chief’s own strength. Samus rolled, but quickly recovered. As she looked up, there was the Chief, and he was reaching behind him and pulled out a Spartan Laser. The barrel of the cannon began to glow red and Samus responded by charging up a power beam. The two armored warriors stared at each other than dashed. Samus dashed at the Chief and he responded with a run of his own then, they dived. The beams were nearly charged and ready to fire. Samus and the Chief then thrusted their weapons forward at each other. They shook from the charging power, and then just before they collided…they fired. The Spartan Laser and the charged Power Beam collided in an earthquake of power. Smoke and dust kicked up greatly, enough to almost be matched for a sandstorm.
The Chief’s body flew, dropping the Spartan Laser. He crashed into a wall, his body stuck within the hole he made. He was limp and his shield wasn’t responding. On the other end of the blast, armor flew in all directions. Samus had crashed into the other wall, only her Zero suit remained and her blond hair a mess. She didn’t stick in the wall, merely knocked her head against it and fell to the ground, unconscious. Her armor was destroyed, just as the Chief’s shield was disabled. Both were knocked out. Zeer nodded, sighing in relief. He raised a hand.
“It is…a draw!” He declared a roaring boo came from the audience. Obviously they wanted one winner, but found only a tie. Quickly a medical team, dressed in white came with a stretcher and, though normally used for moving large objects, a gravity gun. The team would place Samus on the stretcher, and though it wasn’t exactly careful, would use the gun to carry the Chief. A woman followed the team in.
“Before you move them, allow me to make some quick mends!” She said. The woman had emerald eyes and a long pink dress. Over that a red coat. Her auburn hair was braided from the sides and a pink bow stood in the back of her hair. She ran to Samus first, her boots proving useful rather than the high heels she planned to bring.
“Miss, Aerith, we must move them soon though!” A member of the medical team protested. Aerith shook her head.
“No, let me heal them a bit, they’ll won’t wake up sore at least.” Aerith bent down before Samus and placed her hands together. A bell then appeared over the bounty huntress and healing spores fell upon her skin and suit. The team placed her on the stretcher and hurried to the medical room. Aerith stood and ran to the chief next. She did the same and the team used the gun to carefully take him to his chamber.
“Thank you, Aerith;” Zeer approached her, placing a hand on her shoulder, “It’s good that I told you about his entering in the first place.” Aerith nodded, looking to the ground.
“I just hope he doesn’t get too hurt…” She trailed off.
“Do not worry, he’ll be fine and his match is next, so return to your seat.” Aerith nodded and ran back to the stand, climbing the wall with the help of a friend of her’s, Cid.
“Damn girl, you just don’t know when to stop being so generous eh?” The blond haired man said; his cigarette shifting as he spoke. Aerith giggled a bit to herself.
“Well why didn’t you enter anyway?” She responded.
“Hah, are you shitting me? I wouldn’t go in there! I wouldn’t want to fight him after all! When’s his match anyway?” Cid asked finally.
“Next.” Aerith sat down as did Cid.
Well here ye be!
