@black Dranzer: I shall first answer your 3rd question! Yes, that is the point. I agree with the banning of canon characters.
Q: How do they get on the island?
A: A great big ship with a bunch of small boats on it. The small boats take them to the island and to the big ship. The ship (possibly the S.S. Envision) takes them to the main land, which is later to be decided.
Q: If it's an MMO loved by the world, then by my math, the whole world has to play it, no? They couldn't live on the island; you have to have a real job to pay for the subscription at least. That's a concept that needs further explanation.
A: This isn't so much an MMO as it is a theme park. Yes. A very violent, dangerous, adventurous, story-making theme park. Like an anime/comic book version of Disney World...kinda. XP Think of it as Shaman King & Marvel meets Disney World. The island is always open, and you may come and go as you please as long as you/your character has not been imprisoned in some way or "killed". You can either pay for a day (24 hours of game play) or get a 1 year pass. No matter which one you get your character will be waiting for you until your next visit. However, characters are erased after six months of inactivity. Character data is stored in the gauntlets that everyone gets when they board the ship.
Regarding the tech template[/b]
There will be no techniques. I plan to run this more like a Marvel/DC RP forum. Notice that there's nothing on the sample character template regarding techniques. As long as everyone stays within the limits of their powers everything should be fine.
As for the maximum power, if you have already read this whole topic, or my very first post, you have seen that the max is Kuro at 2% (this was agreed upon by Morph and I a long time back). So, take Kuro when he fought Blazen, or Saikou in outer space, and then take away one third of his power. At 3% he could have wiped out almost every planet in our galaxy with one attack. So, by removing a third of his power he would be able to destroy Earth with one attack, and possibly two other planets. However, Kuro had an unlimited energy supply, whereas most characters do not. By performing an attack of such power most beings would be drained and unable to continue fighting. For obvious reasons we cannot allow any character to have that level of power and have an infinite energy supply.
I can't really say what Ymaggion rank it would be, mainly because I've never been too sure how powerful a Alphas or Zetas really are.
@morph: I still like the idea of the nanobots. Perhaps we could use nanobots for players and make the island like a giant version of the Danger Room?
As for powers, I could see someone using shape shifting. These nanobots can alter ones appearance in nearly endless ways. So, I don't see why you wouldn't be allowed to use it. And because they're interacting with the digitally created world around you I don't think it would matter if you make your finger into a key to unlock a door.
R.D. brings up a good point. Teleportation may be impossible. However, what if it wasn't the nanobots making the person teleport? Perhaps Envision Ent. has actually developed the first teleportation device. Using technology similar to what's used in the Mega Man series it could be done if you strategically placed those devices all over the island. People have been doing research on this sort of thing for years, so it's possible that they made a teleportation device seeing as how this is almost 8-10 years in the future.
