Clearing through the last of the brushes with a couple swings of his arm, the orange-haired teenager stepped out into the clearing, re-adjusting his headphones to properly rest on his head.
It had been quite a while without any leads to Arumon- some had assumed he disappeared from the gameworld altogether. As of late, however, random surges of energy had come from the insides of the temple, as noted both by nearby players as well as by the Ymaggion staff.
He had been told not to come. Repeatedly. The reports went out shortly after the real-life shooting: "Mysterious knight kills Buena Vista administrator," "Staff unprepared for vicious murder" and other such garbage. The new body Sora now inhabited was just a ruse to continue the illusion that what the articles reported was fact.
The plan was to lay low as a normal player while the Arumon situation was handled out. After so long with no leads and suddenly this new piece of information showing up however, Neku decided that he had to be a part of it, even without his co-worker's consent.
"They should be arriving here soon..." he thought, casually flipping through songs on the mp3 player strapped around his neck.

The last thing Kite wanted to deal with was another case to eat away at his brainpower while he was already focusing a great deal of time and effort on the connections between Ferus, the mirror-mes, the stolen artifacts, and the mole in the staff. Unfortunately, the board of directors did not see this as necessary at the moment and decided that conspiracy theories needed to take a backseat to some power surges at an old temple. Kite was furious about this, and the fact that Samus had been handed personal control over the project until Kite's true actions during the incident at the staff tower were made clear did nothing but further fuel his anger. This put him in a bad enough mood, and the thought of a possible showdown with Arumon made him cringe with negative emotions.
He was sitting on the temple steps reading through messages on his PDA when he saw Neku cut through the bushes. He grew a very somber look as he gazed at him moving closer. While it wasn't like Kite to go by the book, he felt he had no choice here. He couldn't just let this slide; he was in deep trouble as is. Finally, he decided to shout out.
"You shouldn't be here. Go home."
