'lo all. I am in the process of creating a guild for the Beta testers, but I am a bit stuck on the exact benefits and what signs they bear to show they are part of the guild (and thus were Beta testers). Uniforms didn't seem like a thing for them, even though it may work for other guilds, so I thought accessories or articles of clothing that are not necessarily worn might do the trick. So I'll just make a short list here of such things and would like to hear your thoughts on it and possible suggestions, too. List: - Shades tinted in a particular colour (preferable one easily noticable, like a bright shade) - Cloaks with a particular pattern on them - Signature weapon (probably something of a bomb or a simple throwing weapon, at least a secondary kind of weapon) - Bracelets or rings (doesn't sound like it'd work for everyone) - A specific marking on their hands (not unlike a tattoo, but can be suppressed at will), or on another easily spotted spot Benefits: - Certain equipment (x-ray / infra-red lenses?) -

A Beta Badge, maybe. Goes where ever the wearer chooses, but is noticeable and signifies the beta tester membership.
Benefits...uhm...some sort of stat boost? A constant supply of gold?

Perhaps some special techniques or something along those lines, also priveleged access to places inside the administrator tower or Traicen or other things of the sort.

I don't think a stat boost would be appropriate; trying to stay away from static bonuses, so to say. Constant supply of gold sounds a bit too much, too. The Beta testers already have more experience than the rest even if they are not necessarily more powerful, so many find it easy to haul in some cash. (Pointing to Rua's and Blazen's ventures in the Fire Temple, Rua's and Alasea's trip to the Sea Temple, Morph's lugging in the emerald altar from the Far North, etc. etc.) The badge sounds like an idea. Then they could go "Hold it, this is the Beta Guild!" Perhaps some special techniques or something along those lines, also priveleged access to places inside the administrator tower or Traicen or other things of the sort. Privileged access sounds like a plan. A special guild technique sounds also like something. Any suggestions?

Technique eh?
How 'bout this:
Beta Hero
Any beta tester with this ability will find themselves more enhanced based on their theme and strategy according to their techniques.

That sounds really, really vague, Zane.
Anyways, let's compromise.
Beta testers get a special crest/emblem/badge that can be worn if the Beta Tester so desires, and this crest both acts as a key into specialized areas (such as the Beta Tester guild HQ) and as something that grants a special ability or technique so long as its equipped.
The technique/ability shouldn't vary between characters. Have it be universal, so its fair for everyone.

I think that if I were to put in a Beta tester technique, it'd be something somewhat powerful (Beta rank or thereabouts, possibly free for Gamma-ranked Beta Testers), slightly wacky maybe and most likely a reference to the Beta Test.
The Badge could be something like the Greek letters Epsilon and Beta. =P

Hmm...
What if the badge were to give a tech like this (sounds almost like something in "power rangers") X.P
Beta Heroes United
If any other beta testers are present when this tech is used, this tech will become more powerful and may possibly change based on the other beta testers' elements. If the beta testers have the same element, then this tech will simply be increased by 5% damage.
This tech releases any form of energy based on who is using it and who is contributing to the attack (if your wind based, then u may release a tornado at the enemy. If you have a contributor, and he/she is fire based, then u may release a flaming tornado at the enemy with an increase of 5% more damage.)
Neutral based beta testers, because of their disadvantage to the elements and have no easy shots at a "weaker element" they have the option of using Anti-Matter energy. (Look it up in the accepted techs section) If they choose not too, then a simple beam with no real special effects will be released.
======
How's that? ^^

While I agree with the badge, i'm not sure one uniform set of possible attacks to be bestowed on them would be the proper perk. I honestly don't think this thing should really give out any techniques; it seems like a waste of time, especially considering the fact that most of the betas already have a very reasonable amount of custom techs and really, are that many people going to use a generic attack if their character is painstakingly customized? I'd recommend just some very average benefits i.e. 20% off in equipment and item shops, Meal discounts, Access to a few special areas maybe, perhaps some unique invitations to certain beta-only events? I just don't see a real point to creating uniform beta attacks that aren't really even worth much. Just some benefits would be alright in my book, but that's just this troll's opinion.
