This thread is about one of the Ymaggion Canon's Martial Art Styles, namely the Devoted Spirit Style. Below you will find a description of the style as well as a list of its techniques sorted by rank and alphabetical order.
Epsilon Martial Spirit
Delta Crusader's Strike Stunning Shield
Gamma Divine Surge Sword and Board Counter
Beta Aura of Chaos Aura of Triumph Aura of Tyranny
Alpha Immortal Fortitude Strike of Righteous Vitality
Name of Technique: Devoted Spirit
Creator of the Technique: Unknown
Type of Technique: Martial Art Style
Rank of Technique: No rank; available to all
Element of Technique: —
Effects of Technique: Devoted Spirit is the style of the devoted and the faithful, those who seek to make their bodies and their minds pure, for faith and purity of mind and body are the sources of a warrior’s power, according to the philosophy of the Devoted Spirit style. Devoted Spirit techniques harness a practioner’s spiritual strength and zeal, and its maneuvers focus on toughness and endurance. The discipline includes techniques that are a bane to those with an opposing alignment, abilities that allow one to continue fighting where others would have long fallen, and attacks infused with divine power. Devoted Spirit practioners and masters favour the longsword, falchion, maul and greatclub as weapons. A Devoted Spirit practioner also chooses a kind of divine energy to become aligned with: Holy Energy, Evil Energy or Nightmare Energy. This determines which Devoted Spirit Techniques he can perform.
If a character does not have the "Devoted Spirit" entry on their technique list, they cannot perform Devoted Spirit techniques.

Name of Technique: Aura of Chaos
Creator of the Technique: Unknown
Type of Technique: Devoted Spirit Stance
Rank of Technique: Beta
Element of Technique: Nightmare Energy
Effects of Technique: While in this stance, you cannot have any other stance technique active. You become surrounded by a coruscating aura of purple energy as nightmarish chaos flows forth from you. As long as you are in this stance, your melee attacks become much more devastating, dealing up to four times more damage (this also goes for techniques of Gamma rank or below, but not Beta or Alpha rank techniques). The aura extends up to 30 ft away from you and grants a similar, albeit weakened effect to your allies, making their attacks twice as potent (this effect also goes for Delta rank techniques and below, but not techniques of Gamma rank or higher).

Name of Technique: Aura of Triumph
Creator of the Technique: Unknown
Type of Technique: Devoted Spirit Stance
Rank of Technique: Beta
Element of Technique: Holy Energy
Effects of Technique: While in this stance, you cannot have any other stance technique active. While you are in this stance, you channel the power of good through your body and soul, infusing the area around you with a soft golden radiance. You and allies within 30 ft of you heal a little amount of damage every time one of you successfully hits a creature with a melee attack.

Name of Technique: Aura of Tyranny
Creator of the Technique: Unknown
Type of Technique: Devoted Spirit Stance
Rank of Technique: Beta
Element of Technique: Evil Energy
Effects of Technique: While in this stance, you cannot have any other stance technique active. A sickly gray radiance intwined with bright sparks of green surrounds you. While you are in this stance, you drain life force from your allies within 30 ft of you. However, the amount of life force they lose is twice the amount you gain. An ally you drain from must be willing for this stance to affect that particular ally.

Name of Technique: Immortal Fortitude
Creator of the Technique: Unknown
Type of Technique: Devoted Spirit Stance
Rank of Technique: Alpha
Element of Technique: Holy/Evil/Nightmare Energy [Depending on which chosen]
Effects of Technique: While in this stance, you cannot have any other stance technique active. Despite horrific wounds you have suffered, the searing pain of elemental energies, and a foe’s mighty blows, you stand resolute on the field and defy your enemies. So long as you remain in this stance, you cannot be killed or incapacitated through mere damage to your body. However, you must remain standing where you are, and are not allowed to walk fast or run, for if you move faster than 3 ft per second, you lose the benefits of this stance until you have stood in one spot for ten seconds again. This stance does not provide you protection against techniques that do not deal damage to your body. You are still susceptible to curses and debuffs, although a lot of poisons are useless against you (stunning poisons and the like still work).

Name of Technique: Crusader’s Strike
Creator of the Technique: Unknown
Type of Technique: Devoted Spirit Strike
Rank of Technique: Delta
Element of Technique: Healing
Effects of Technique: Divine energy surges through you as you attack a target. The target must pose a threat to you or your allies and be of an opposing alignment (good if you are evil, evil if you are good). If your attack hits its mark, then you heal a little bit of damage you have taken prior to the strike.

Name of Technique: Strike of Righteous Vitality
Creator of the Technique: Unknown
Type of Technique: Devoted Spirit Strike
Rank of Technique: Alpha
Element of Technique: Holy/Evil/Nightmare Energy [Depending on which chosen]
Effects of Technique: This is the ultimate technique of the Devoted Spirit style. When you make this strike, you or a nearby ally is greatly healed, almost always up to full health (but not magical energy or stamina), and cured of all diseases and poisons and rid of all curses, status ailments and debuffs. However, the enemy you strike must be of an opposing alignment from you and must pose a threat to you or your allies in some direct, immediate way.
Special: Someone must know three Devoted Spirit techniques to be able to learn this technique.

Name of Technique: Martial Spirit
Creator of the Technique: Unknown
Type of Technique: Devoted Spirit Stance
Rank of Technique: Epsilon
Element of Technique: None
Effects of Technique: While in this stance, you cannot have any other stance technique active. Each time you successfully hit an opponent in melee combat, you or an ally within 30 ft of you heals a slight bit of damage they have taken. It does not heal much, but a few hits usually is enough to keep someone from dying.
