NPC or PC: PC
Real- Life Character Name: Sarah Whittaker
Ymaggion Character Name: Samus Aran
Alias: The Hunter
Age: 25
Gender: Female
Nationality: United States of America
Rank: Beta
Strengths/Weaknesses: Samus has excellent endurance and combat ability. She is an excellent explorer, and is able to quickly adapt to any situation.
Clothing/Armor: –
Samus’ usual outfit is the Zero Suit, a light blue- and cobalt-colored skintight body suit that she wears underneath her armor. The Zero Suit has an interface on the left arm that allows her to summon and dismiss her armor at will.
Physical Appearance: As seen above, Samus is a young, blonde-haired woman of medium height. She has an athletic build, and is quite strong and hardy thanks to the Chozo blood mixed with her own. She’ll change her hairstyle occasionally, and it almost always has her hair up so it wouldn’t interfere with her armor’s helmet.
Personality: Samus is very much a tough-as-nails tomboy. She’s a little introverted, and a loner, but she’s friendly and outgoing. Samus is extremely brave, able to go into the unknown with no fear. She’s free-spirited, which often puts her at odds with Master Chief. Samus very rarely gets angry at others, but when she does, she tends to be a little emotional with it. She is also very attentive and intelligent, easily capable of finding the solution to puzzles and problems when exploring new regions. Oftentimes she is ridiculed for her armor, saying that she is a coward—this is not true, as Samus is just as capable of a fighter out of her armor as she is in it.
Equipment:
Varia Suit – Samus’ basic armor configuration. The Varia Suit provides moderate shielding and protection against vastly high or low temperatures. Moves sluggishly underwater.
Gravity Suit – An upgrade to the Varia Suit. The Gravity Suit provides high shielding and protection against vastly differing temperatures, and allows free movement underwater.
Phazon Suit – The Gravity Suit suffering from a Phazon corruption. The Phazon Suit provides superior shielding, protection against vastly differing temperatures, allows free movement underwater, and allows Samus to traverse through harmful materials such as Phazon without fear of harm.
Chozo Arm Cannon – The primary weapon of Samus’ armor. It can contain up to four different beam weapons, and can use them separately or simultaneously. To switch the weapons, Samus holds her hand in a different position. The weapon is also equipped with a missile launcher system. With the Phazon Suit, the arm cannon gains a special fifth weapon configuration, the Phazon Beam. It, however, cannot be interfaced with the other beam weapons.
Visor System – Samus’ helmet contains a complex visor system, allowing for different modes of sight for different situations, including a Combat Visor, Scan Visor, Thermal Visor, X-Ray Visor, Dark Visor, and Echo Visor.
Miscellaneous Items:
Boost Ball – The first enhancement for the Morph Ball module. Allows Samus to charge kinetic energy into the Morph Ball to shoot forward at high speeds for a brief moment, which is excellent for ramming enemies or shooting upwards in half-pipes.
Spider Ball – The second enhancement for the Morph Ball module. Allows Samus to attach herself in the Morph Ball form to magnetic rails or magnetic surfaces to transport herself to otherwise-inaccessible areas.
Grapple Beam – A small, rod-like device attached to the underside of the left arm, which produces an energy beam used to disarming opponents or swinging to other areas.
Space Jump – The Space Jump is an enhancement in the boots of the Chozo Armor that allows Samus to jump in midair multiple times, allowing her to get to new heights.
Paralyzer – A handheld pistol that firing energy rounds that paralyze the target for a few brief seconds. It can be charged up to fire a more powerful blast, for a shot that does a ten-second stun. This weapon is non-lethal, but can produce an energy whip to use melee attacks. This mode can be lethal, but is dangerous to use against most enemies. Samus does not use the Paralyzer with the Chozo armor.
“Hunter” Class Gunship –
Samus’ personal transport is a Hunter class gunship. The vehicle is highly maneuverable and features an anti-gravity landing device, allowing it to land nearly anywhere. The ship is capable of recharging and restocking Samus’ energy and ammunition.
Elemental Affinity: None
Special Abilities: Samus has been infused with Chozo blood. As a result, she has a much higher endurance than normal, and can live in harsh environments without problems. The endurance also allows her to use her Chozo Armor effectively, without tiring. The Chozo Armor itself can only be used by Samus, and it gives her an excellent advantage in battle with its various weapons, abilities, and scanning capabilities.
Transformations:
Morph Ball –
Samus rolls inwards on herself while activating the Morph Ball module, transforming her body into energy, contained within a metal sphere half her height. This form allows her to roll at high speeds, and uses the Morph Ball Bomb and Power Bomb for combat, and the Boost Ball and Spider Ball enhancements for added mobility.
Techniques:
1. Power Beam
2. Ice Beam
3. Wave Beam
4. Plasma Beam
5. Missile
6. Seeker Missile
7. Morph Ball Bomb
8. Power Bomb
9. Grapple Beam
10. Screw Attack
Super Techniques:
1. Phazon Beam
2. Charge Combo
Battle Style: Samus’ primary weapon in battle is the arm cannon integrated with her Chozo Armor. In battle, she’ll often duck and strafe while firing a constant barrage of beam shots, often punctuating them with charged shots or missiles. Her scanner allows her to lock onto her targets with ease, making her quite accurate. When her enemies employ shields in battle, she uses her Grapple Beam, originally designed to swing over gaps, to rip away the shielding or to throw objects at the enemy. Her advanced weapon systems make her a dangerous opponent at long-range battle. When her opponents manage to latch onto her, she’ll often enter her Morph Ball and lay Morph Ball Bombs to dislodge them, or a Power Bomb to destroy them outright.
When she does not have access to her Chozo Armor, Samus will use the Paralyzer in battle. Without the suit, she’ll do her best to stay hidden, as her pistol is non-lethal at long range. However, if her enemies get too close, she can use her Paralyzer to produce a short-range energy whip to attack with.
Companions: As an Administrator, Samus has companions in the Administrators: Gahm, Jonathan, Master Chief, Shade, Trav, Sora, and Kite. Of these Administrators, Samus gets along with Trav the easiest, often trying to coax him out of his shyness. She does, however, have a rivalry with Master Chief, one that is mostly friendly. Their rivalry has only come to blows once; both were drunk at the time. While she does get along with Kite, she tends to worry about his rebelliousness.
Samus also has a tentative companion in the ADHD-stricken Mirror-Me, Jadis. The girl was captured by Rua, and Samus decided to take her under her wing in an effort to teach her, and to study her unique creation as a Mirror-Me.
History: Sarah Whittaker was appointed as a Ymaggion Administrator shortly after the conclusion of the Epsilon Project beta test. She quickly realized she was the only female Administrator hired, but she had lucked out by being a tomboy. Being female and Nintendo’s representative for Ymaggion, Sarah chose to create a character based on Nintendo’s leading female protagonist, Samus Aran. The Square-Enix representative of the time, and only continuing Administrator since the conclusion of the beta test, Blane, took her under her wing and the two became close friends. Samus soon found herself being appointed to scouting out questionable regions within the game’s infrastructure as the company finalized Ymaggion. Along the way, she found herself at odds with Microsoft’s representing Administrator, Master Chief. While the two often seem to deliberately aggravate each other, the two have only a friendly rivalry. They only came to blows once, and the fight was a minor scuffle—the two, at the time, were drunk.
Samus seemed perfect for the job of investigating questionable areas. She found herself assisting Blane in the recapture of the Fire Temple, having to fight and sneak her way through an army of Poképloids. During an attack on Pharos ordered by the rogue player Orochimaru and lead by his leading henchman Kabuto, she was forced to disarm several bombs on her way to the reset panel for the lighthouse, preventing its destruction, even as a strange virus bonded the corpse of a mutated dragon to that of an IslandTurtle structure. In the end, she found herself in charge of a captive: the Mirror-Me Jadis, one of the most powerful Mirror-Mes, next to Eva and Meta. Finally, she stumbled on a dimensional portal on Kattelox Island that lead to a destroyed version of the island. When Capcom representative Sheishirou and a couple players joined her, they were confronted by the resurrected Dark Balance, 003 Omega. When they returned to Ymaggion, Samus returned to the Core immediately to broadcast a warning to all players, even as a number of Administrators and Beta Testers intercepted Kuro.
Over the course of the following war, Samus and the rest of the Administrators suffered terrible blows with the losses of Blane and Sheishirou, and with the losses of a Beta Tester, despite the destruction of five of the nine “Sons of Darkness”: NightShade, Cyrus Nemesis, Kagai Nemesis, Namonai, and Kuro. Samus continued her forays into the unknown, and at the current moment is searching for possible places that the dangerous, unstable prototype program Arumon may decide to call home.
RP Example: A metallic sphere rolled through a small, stone tunnel, the energy within it illuminating the rock walls. The orb made a metallic rolling sound as it moved through, and suddenly it exited the tunnel, partially obscured by green foliage. The reddish orange sphere moved out slightly, and suddenly disappeared in a flash of light as a armored figure stood up, covered in metallic red and orange armor with large, rounded pauldrons and a crimson-colored helmet sporting a green visor. The figure’s right arm, however, was covered in a green-colored cylindrical cannon, with four yellowish-red energy lines resting parallel on top.
Samus looked about the jungle, holding her arm cannon out in front of her as she looked around. The threat assessment was non-existent, and only the sound of native insects could be heard. She lowered her arm and activated the Scan Visor, highlighting a number of objects in blue. She scanned each one of them, looking at the bit of data for each before turning it off and making her way down a beaten path. Peaceful here, she noted, I wonder where I’ll find the rogues at.
The Hunter stepped into a clearing, littered with a few rocks. The air grew still, and beneath her helmet, the blonde Administrator frowned and raised her gun. A monster burst out of the foliage, roaring angrily while charging. Reacting quickly, Samus switched to her Ice Beam, the arm cannon becoming covered in a orange glow. It receded as she dove to the side, letting the monster pass her. The now green and white weapon expanded upwards, and a cold mist covered it. The woman turned to the monster and fired, launching a sphere of cold energy at it and freezing it solid. Samus armed her missile launcher and fired, causing the barrel to split open into sections and launching a concussive missile into the frozen beast and shattering it in the blast.
