NPC or PC: Player character
Real- Life Character Name: Adam Kovarik
Ymaggion Character Name: Adam Kovarik
Alias: None
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Nationality: United States of America
Rank: Gamma
Strengths/Weaknesses: Adam has a focus on speed, agility, and power, preferring to strike hard and fast while being able to dodge and maneuver well. Without his armor and equipment, Adam’s abilities are greater than nearly all other unenhanced humans, able to run faster and hit harder than others. With his equipment, his maneuverability is unparallel, and his equipment is suitable for a wide range of situations. However, Adam is often overconfident, and easily angered. He does not cooperate well with others, but is usually capable of handling the situation on his own. Adam prefers to rely on his weapons, and does not have much faith in special abilities or techniques, and as a result does not use them very often.
Clothing/Armor:
Adam’s uniform is made of a lightweight, sturdy fabric that keeps him warm when airborne or in cold climates. His belt is made of a strange, flexible metal. His boots, while made of cloth, are incredibly sturdy, and easy to run in. Adam wears durable, cobalt-colored plate armor over his upper body, shoulders, forearms, and durable, white-colored plate armor over his upper arms and legs.
Physical Appearance: Adam is a male human of medium height. While he looks a bit thin, he maintains a healthy, athletic build, giving him the illusion of looking only average while hiding his true strength. As seen above, Adam’s black hair is longer than most and quite unruly, a fact he is aware of and has given up trying to correct. Adam’s eyes are a deep, blood-red color. His hair gets in the way of his eyes, but this hardly bothers him.
Personality: Adam is, like most teenagers, a confident and smart person, but is a bit cocky. However, he does have the skill to back this up. He is quick to anger, which makes him difficult for others to get along with him. He does not work well with others, and his anger prevents others from getting close, but he does have friends. Adam has a psychological issue with protection—he is extremely, almost fanatically loyal, to his friends, and takes his promises of protecting them very seriously. Should he fail to keep one of these promises, it eats away at him, angering him and causing him much grief. As a result, he is vengeful, and will take revenge to new heights—and often succeeds, even if the odds outweigh him heavily. These issues put aside, Adam has a unique outlook on those who are superior to him. Adam respects those with power, these people often being veterans of battle. This will apply to anyone he sees in power—even if those people have defeated him in combat. However, if he feels they are not using their power to their full potential, he’ll lose respect for them, often reprimanding them and belittling them for their weakness.
Equipment:
MA-BAR73/S “Karasawa” high-energy beam rifle –
A power beam rifle. Fires a fast-firing, thin green energy beam at a moderate firing rate. The Karasawa rifle can be carried on the back, mounted on the belt for storage.
MMI-714 “Arondight” great sword –
A six-foot-long single-edge war sword. Its blade produces an extremely sharp, cutting energy blade when in use. The Arondight folds in on itself and is mounted on the right-hand weapon rack on the back armor. Requires two hands to effectively use by a human, but has a rather light weight considering its size.
M2000GX “Napoleon” high-energy long-range beam cannon –
A six-foot-long plasma cannon. Fires an extremely powerful, large, red and blue plasma beam at a slow firing rate. The Napoleon cannon is attached to the left-hand weapon rack, folded in on itself when in storage, and is slung under the arm when in use.
RQM60F “Flash-Edge 2” beam boomerangs –
A pair of white boomerang-like devices. Produces a short but extremely sharp energy blade when thrown. The Flash-Edge 2 boomerangs will automatically home back in on the thrower, positioning itself to be caught without injuring the thrower with its blade. When not in use, the boomerangs are mounted on the shoulder armor.
Miscellaneous Items:
Flight pack - Two large, five-foot-long red and black wing binders are mounted on Adam’s back armor, parallel to his body. These wing binders, when activated, swing up, looking like a single long feather pinion, followed by three more that are much smaller, with a fourth one that is longer than the middle ones but shorter than the first. The wing binders mount multiple thrusters on the top and bottom pinions, and can produce the energy wings. Between the wing binders is a large flight thruster, with two weapon racks on either side, between the thruster and binders.
Personal computer device – A small handheld computer with a holographic screen. The computer connects him to the H.O.L.Y. Eye, a powerful satellite that serves both as a weapon and a communication array. The computer holds a vast database, and proves to be a valuable tool for Adam.
Elemental Affinity: None.
Special Abilities: Adam’s natural strength, endurance, speed, agility, and intelligence are higher than most other people who are not imbued with special enhancements. He is capable of crafting and executing plans mid-battle
Transformations:
Overdrive – When Adam is in a situation that puts him to the limit, or places much emotional and mental stress, Adam enters Overdrive. This causes him to enter a state of enhanced awareness and peak physical ability. He demonstrates heightened reflexes and extremely quick information processing, allowing Adam’s reaction time to skyrocket. This ability is usually triggered by extreme situations or from recalling significant traumas, often arising out of a need to protect someone else in a critical situation. Overdrive is denoted by the irises of Adam’s eyes to widening while his pupils contracting.
Techniques:
1. Palma Fiocina
2. Solidus Fulgor
3. Gryphon Kick
4. Genkaku no Tsubasa
Super Techniques:
1. Multi-Phase Beam Cannon
2. H.O.L.Y. Eye
Battle Style: Adam prefers fast-paced, airborne battles. His flight system allows him unparalleled movement in the air. He prefers fighting his opponent from long range, using his beam rifle and plasma cannon to great effect while circling his opponent at rapid speeds. The two boomerangs are often used to surprise his opponent. When using the sword, he’ll charge his opponent at an extremely high speed to make a devastating attack, utilizing hard swings of the weapon. When enemies get too close, he’ll counter with the Palma Fiocina attack, which is devastating at close ranges. By utilizing the energy wings produced by his flight system, Adam can disorient his opponent and take advantage of the fact.
Companions: Adam often finds himself the unwilling companion of Areni. The feeling is mutual for Gahm’s daughter: the two of them can’t stand each other. However, Adam seems to be able to get along quite well with Areni’s little sister, Maya.
Adam has a penultimate rival in Locke Silverwind. The two never got along since they first met, and their battle styles are polar opposites when fighting in the air, as Adam prefers long-range combat and rarely makes use of magic and special abilities, while Locke prefers close-range combat and makes great use of magical attacks.
History: Adam Kovarik is a jaded teenager living alone with his younger sister in the United States. Their parents are died in a terrible accident, and as a result, the two of them inherited a vast fortune. This, however, made Adam jaded; he rarely uses the money on things he wants, sticking only with things he needs. He did, however, purchase Ymaggion and the VR headset for it, and when he is not spending time with his sister, can be found playing the game. On the game, Adam made a name for himself as a talented and renowned mercenary and bounty hunter, infamous for his skill with long-range weaponry. One of his exploits was the destruction of a massive viral creature that had fused itself to an IslandTurtle and wreaked havoc on Pharos.
Adam gained some friends, and many more enemies during his exploits. He’s also made decidedly foolish challenges. One person he battled was the famed Beta Tester and Demon Hunter, Kalmar Uverth. The battle ended badly; Kalmar wiped the battlefield with him. Another enemy he challenged was Naze Nightfield, having encountered the Eighth Son of Darkness while on a mission assigned by the Staff. His task was to check up on a Vault in the abandoned mines of Zailleon, and he discovered that many powerful demons had been extracted from it—including dozens of Darkened Beasts, a number of World Eaters, a single Blood Eagle, a few of the dreaded Karogni, and the most fearsome of them all, the Khaglessi demon, Re-Tuul. After writing up his report, Adam was attacked by a viral monster that, in the process of the fight, destroyed several of the mines’ key supports. As he fled, he detected three people within the mines: two of them being Sons of Darkness. He attacked Naze head on, but when the his and ZetsumeiRyu’s escape further weakened the mines and caused it to collapse, he scooped up the third inhabitant, Areni, and fled.
This action garnered him a very dangerous enemy in the girl.
Adam and Areni disliked each other from the get-go, but due to the fact they both had to report to the same person, Areni’s father, they were forced to travel together. The journey was extremely trying and frustrating for both of them. When they reached the Administrative Tower in the Core, Areni finally grew fed up with Adam and abandoned him in the security lair of Gahm. Adam journeyed through the rest of the labyrinth and met a strange puppet creature: Blues Wee. Blues Wee suffered major damage at the hands of Adam’s plasma cannon, as Blues annoyed Adam to no end. Upon the attack, Adam met with Teddy and gave his report (much to the stuffed animal’s shock and displeasure.)
RP Example: In a few short moments, the combined black fire and plasma energy consumed the second lower body, destroying it. "Distract that thing!" Adam shouted to Blazen over the roars, "I'm going inside to finish it off!"
He seperated the two beam weapons and fired the Napoleon at the base of the IslandTurtle, exploding a hole to enter. The thrusters of his flight pack ignited, and Adam blasted forward inside. Within the hull of the IslandTurtle, Adam shot through the halls, seeing them covered in strange, fleshy growth. He hoped he'd find the beast's core soon.
Inside the massive vehicle, Adam swore. That shaking didn't sound too good. "I have to find the Core to kill this thing! C'mon, where the hell is it!?" he shouted to himself as he flew down the random halls. He silently swore to find the people who made the d**n thing and give them slow, torturous deaths. The very sky darkened as the beast released its wrath, causing the earth to shake violently as a gigantic beam erupted from the orb. The attacks thrown at it were obliterated instantly. The wings fired beams alongside it, and all of them shredded into the fortress around Pharos, vaporizing a large swathe of the fortress proper.
Pharos rumbled as the beam caused a massive explosion like a black dome of energy that darkened the entire area, as if it were nighttime. The irradiated airspace of where the beams passed through crackled with electricity. The beast roared in fury as its wings fired beams in random directions. Within its IslandTurtle base, Adam growled as he picked himself up from the floor, as the turbulence from the attack affected even its insides, and had thrown him to the floor.
"Yep, definitely killing this asshole," he muttered as he drew Arondight and shot down the halls again. Arondight slashed through a large door, revealing a very long hallway with a glowing light at the very end.
"Found you," Adam growled as his flight pack ignited. He shot down the hall at rapid speeds, blade held forward point-first. "Aaaaarrrggghhhh!!!!"
Adam's roar reverberated through the halls of the IslandTurtle base of the monster as he tore down the hall. The pulsing, glowing red orb that was the core of the beast grew ever closer to his pointed blade, as it was held in place by strands of flesh. The front of it shattered as the Arondight sword pierced it, and Adam shoved nearly the entire blade into it.
Outside, the beast suddenly screamed. The energy gathered in the mouth of the head looking at Blazen grew out of control, fluctuating wildly, before finally exploding. The entire head was torn apart. And with that, the firing of beams stopped, and with a pitiful cry, the beast fell forward, slamming into the ground with a resounding shockwave from the impact of so many tons striking the ground.
Extra: Adam is extremely paranoid of Gahm, and rightfully so.
