Ladies and gentlemen, I present you, the character sheet. Info on what needs to be in it is found below, and the coding for the actual sheet is found at the bottom. Be sure to read all of it through if it is your first character you will be making here.
Also, let it be known that if you desire to RP in the "The Real World" board with this character, you will need to use the characters "Real Name", which is why it is required. If the character is radically different from his/her Ymaggion counterpart in real life, then also provide a description of his/her appearance in the real world in a paragraph underneath the Ymaggion character's appearance between brackets: [[ place it here ]].
One last thing, please note that everything put here is not absolute. We may cut some slack on the amount of words, or change or minds about certain abilities a character may have, etcetera.
Your Name: Here goes your name. Real, internet alias, or just put "anonymous".
Your Age: Ditto the above, but with age.
Canon or Custom Character: Is the character canon or custom? Canon characters are those owned by a company. This includes characters in armour that could look like anyone underneath it.
RP Experience: What is your experience with Role-Playing?
Rules Password: The password that is hidden within the rules of the board needs to be put here.
--------
NPC or PC: Is the character a Non-Player Character or Player Character? This is basically founded on wether or not the character is someone in ‘real life’ outside of the world of Ymaggion. If the character is someone like that, he/she/it is a PC. If the character is a program, it’s an NPC (think Sons of Darkness or something).
BTW, if the character is very different from his/her Ymaggion character in real life, then please do tell about what he/she is like in the respective sections.
Real- Life Character Name: What is the name of the character outside of the world of Ymaggion? Remember, the world of Ymaggion is a game, a bit like the Matrix is a digital world, or the one in the Digimon or .hack series. Outside of that ‘game world’, the characters also have other, real names. So first and last name. Needless to say, you don’t need to fill this in is the character is an NPC. For instance, a character’s name in real life could be “Pete Hallerthson” or something, whilst his Ymaggion character name could be “Lockfeese” or something of the sort, and NOT the other way around.
Ymaggion Character Name: What is the name of the character within the world of Ymaggion? This name is the one you will be mainly using for your character (unless he/she/it prefers to be called by his/her real name). This name can be as crazy as you like, but keep it in a normal format, meaning no “Leet” names or names that have the letters in all caps or all lowercase, or worst of all, caps and lowercase one after another. Numbers may be allowed, but not in the middle of a name.
Examples of bad names:
A good strategy for coming up with a name is to just smash your keyboard until a large string of letters is on your screen, and then check if some good names might be in it. For example:
agkhhosdjlhxgodhjlhfduzghuidfyibfdsightushxjbfyasehrid
Possible names: Khhos, Duz, Ghuid, Fyib, Dsightus, Fyase, Rid.
Alias: What are the aliases, or nicknames of the character?
Age: How old is the character?
Gender: Is the character male or female?
Nationality: From which country does the character hail? If the character is a PC, put the real-world country her (e.g.: American, Russian, South African, Croatian), if the character is an NPC, put the Ymaggion country/continent here (look at the RP category names for the country names).
Rank: What is the rank of the character?
The available ranks are:
From high-ranked to low-ranked (meaning Alpha-ranked characters are the strongest ones and Zeta-ranked ones are practically ones that are very new to Ymaggion, or simply just aren’t fighters). Because it is fairly hard to explain the power of these ranks, I shall compare them with other rank-systems that you may or may not be more familiar with, namely, the ones used in the Naruto and Digimon animes and the RPG level-systems. If you aren’t familiar with them, you can look them up, or just ask someone else:
If your character is at a ridiculously high rank for his or her age, it will need to be changed. Also, there are limits on Alpha ranked characters. If you wish to have an Alpha-ranked character, you must first ask permission of the Staff (not just one Staff member, the whole staff, this includes Staff members).
Specialization: Read about specializations here.
Strengths and Weaknesses: What are the strengths and weaknesses of the character? Be warned! If the character’s strengths greatly outstrip their weaknesses, the chances of him/her getting accepted are slimmer. The amount of strengths or weaknesses may vary depending on rank.
Clothing or Armor: You are encouraged to have your character wear clothing. (I mean, this is pretty much for all ages, y’know.) Give the basic outline of what your character wears and then go on to describe some details. You can be as creative as you like, describe what the clothes are made of, what colour it is. Try to have it fit with the character’s personality and fighting style. If the character wears very heavy armour, it’s quite obvious he or she isn’t a speedy fighter! And the one dark and brooding little wizard you meet somewhere at night won’t be of the kind to wear bright coloured clothing and a crown of flowers on his head. You can be as descriptive as you like, but there is at least a minimum limit. Things you might want to describe: shoes (Normal shoes or other? Colour, how do they fit), Legs (Pants / skirt: lose, tight, colour, texture, fabric, design, pockets, how long/short, buckles, buttons) Weapon Holster on leg? Which one? Where exactly? Top (Shirt, tank top, t-shirt, vest, bikini, etc.) Sleeves (length) How it fits (v-neck, turtle neck, scoop neck, one shoulder, no shoulders etc) Length? (short ie. belly. long ie. to hips longer ie. to legs) Any designs, pockets, buttons (front, sides) zippers, string? Other things: Flak vest (different villages have different colours. Some are known, some are not) Arm guards, shin guards (explain what they look like, where they are, colour) Cloaks, robes (much the same details as should be discussed in pants/shirts) Rings? Jewelry? Belts? Necklaces? A dress? General appearance: are your clothes expensive looking, poor looking, nice but well worn? You may gain a bit of slack on this (meaning you are allowed to put less words in here) if you post a picture of the clothing or armour, but then you’d need to post a full-body pic. At least 100 words.
Physical Appearance: Describe what the character looks like. Does the character have a peculiar hair, eye or skin colour? Scars, tattoos? Try picture in your mind what your character would look like and describe that picture. Not everybody is perfect, so don’t try to be the Mary Sue of the looks or something of the sort, and someone who is a tiny little gnat won’t be the one lifting up heavy chunks of rock above his head, just like big hulky brutes won’t be the ones winning speed contests, so make sure appearance and battle style and clothing and armour fit together well. Just describe every detail imagined on your character, your eyes, your skin texture/quality, your eye colour, your eyebrows, your lips, etc. There is a variety of selection, so show some motivation and go into some descriptive detail for us! If you post a picture of your character, that does not mean you cannot post anything. You can gain some leeway, but you will end up posting the regular amount required, usually. Key elements: height, weight, eye (colour, shape) hair (colour, length, style/how worn) body (fat, skinny, bony, looks like long legs, stubby legs, arms? slouch, straight back, etc) hands (look weathered, kept soft, nails) Face- cheeks(round, pronounced, hidden) shape (oval, square, round) appearance (look young, old) nose, ears, facial structure? Scars, tattoos, birthmarks, warts, pimples, freckles, etc. At least 100 words.
Personality: Your character's personality. This is an essential aspect of your character. They should have one, unless they would be rather boring. Remember that a person's personality should reflect the collection of their qualities and traits. It is the characteristics inside people that will explain why they did what they have done. There is the personality inside, which reflects who you are, and can be called your identity. It is the person you are; hopes, dreams, aspirations, goals and intentions. There is also the outside personality, the reputation that they give. Think self-confidence, sociability, charm, creativity and integrity. Remember that only you can paint a 3-D picture of your character, not us. Tell us what makes them tick in good and bad ways. Most especially is it vital to know how they react, and function in combat or in various other situations. People have their own unique qualities or traits to their personality, and they can be influenced by their past which effects their current history. So tell us, and detail to us how your character reacts. Key elements: Think about what they are on the outside, and on the inside? Do they conflict, or merge? Is your person happy and shows this? Are they calm, friendly, rude, perverted, hateful, full of anger, seem to be effected by nothing, are effected by everything? Do they wear their heart of their sleeve? Zodiac; does what they were born under reflect at all in their personality? How do they react when; happy, embarrassed, confronted, scared, and angry, in battle, meeting an average person? Are they the social butterfly that is all bubbly and joyful, or are they the stalker in the night. Describe how they are. Are they comfortable around the opposite gender? Are they mean, but use flattery as a form to get what they want? Lonely, short tempered, talkative? Flesh your character out. Remember they don't have to just be happy. There can be shades of gray. At least 100 words.
Weapons/Equipment: What is the equipment of the character? What are his or her weapons? Does he or she carry a fairly large amount of explosives? Does he or she prefer to fight with a pair of swords or a lance, or maybe a double-bladed axe of some sort? Maybe a gun or a crossbow, or perhaps something wholly different? There are many different weapons out there besides the simple sword or gun or bow, y’know. Try be creative. If you want a weapon with special abilities, you must first register it in the “Custom Weapons” section. Just remember to be practical. A character who is physically weak or relies on speed won’t use heavy weapons like a morning star or a big warhammer. Armour and shields also go into this section. Please also provide a short description of the weapon, or, if it is a custom one, a link to weapon’s topic.
Note that if your character has a lot of weapons or other items, he or she won't be able to have all of them on his or her person all the time. This may be a game simulation, but we keep a little sense of reality still, so nobody will go around carrying three vulcans, sixteen pistols and five buster swords with them.
Miscellaneous Items: Objects other than weapons that the character carries with him/her. This can include things like non-lethal smoke bombs, a book, or other things, like artifacts that aren’t weapons or armour of any kind. Keep a sense of realism with your items and remember that these items are important to your character; they can even be used for possibly plot later on if you so desire it. These items are only for your character, and will not be used as weapons or anything like that. You have freedom here, write as long descriptions as you want or as short, it is your choice.
Elemental Affinity: If the character has an elemental affinity, that means he or she is better at using techniques related to that element. With an elemental affinity, one also gains an upper edge over others with elemental affinities if their element is weak to your character’s element. However, your character will also gain some weaknesses against other elements in the process, and your character will not be able to use techniques of the element he/she is weak to (this last part only goes for Anima elements). You can choose not to give your character an elemental affinity and just ignore all the strong-vs.-weak-element thing.
This is how Ymaggion's elemental strengths and weaknesses work:
Ice blocks Wind
Wind erodes Earth
Earth absorbs Lightning
Lightning shocks Water
Water puts out Fire
[/ul]
Then there are also Light and Darkness, where Light is stronger than Darkness, but Darkness in return is strong against the six aforementioned Anima elements, and the Anima elements are strong against Light.
Other elements include ones such as Nature and Metal. Nature includes plants and wood, and is therefore weak to fire, but healed by water.
You can only have ONE element for your elemental affinity.
Special Abilities: Post any special abilities your character has. Does the character have a heightened sense of hearing? Is he or she somewhat more physically powerful than others, or faster? Basically, an ability is something that is ALWAYS active (e.g.: super strength, underwater breathing) instead of temporarily at certain times (e.g.: setting your sword on fire).
Forbidden abilities are:
Limited abilities include:
Element Manipulation: I am fine with a couple of characters here and there being able to control elements, however, they may not just do things with it that is pretty much out of their league (like throwing man-sized fireballs if you are Epsilon-ranked). Also, you WILL NOT be able to control techniques of others that include the element.[/ul]
Further limitations may be put out by the Staff while looking through a profile.
Transformations: Is the character able to transform into a higher level of power? This doesn’t mean that the character can suddenly go from Zeta-rank to Alpha-rank, but at least gain the upper hand in a fight against someone of equal rank. Describe abilities gained while in the transformation, changes to the character’s appearance, or maybe the character can now do a certain technique he or she could not do while in their normal state? Zeta and Epsilon-ranks may have real transformation (‘real’ as in ‘transforming their whole appearance and granting special abilities’, but they are allowed to have one ‘heightened state’ where their natural abilities are just pushed to a somewhat higher level). No more than 3 transfomations, unless you’re an Alpha-rank.
Techniques: The techniques of your character are one of the deciding factors of his/her strength and rank. Techniques somewhat sum up characters and even can be associated with their personality (character’s with a rather goofy personality might have crazy techniques to throw others off guard). A technique can be associated with various elements. We have a list of “common” techniques that every character may know. Simple, low-rank techniques. If you wish for your character to have custom techniques, you may register them in the respective section. You may not, however, register techniques that others have registered before you before asking their permission first.
It depends on the character’s rank on how many techniques they may have:
Put JUST the names of the techniques, and if they are your own custom techniques, provide a link. Non "medical" characters (meaning characters based around healing with no real offensive techniques) may not have more than one healing technique.
Super Techniques: Basically, this is the same as Techniques, except that they are stronger. These Super Techniques are techniques that are actually one rank above your character's rank, which is why they may have only a limited amount:
Put JUST the names of the techniques, and if they are your own custom techniques, provide a link. So no full descriptions.
Battle Style: This is how your character fights. You should try to balance out your character so that it has some strengths, but also some weaknesses. Obviously, in most cases, the higher up the food chain (read: ranking ladder) you go, the stronger you are. When writing this out, think about magical and natural abilities, techniques the character knows, but not just that. How does your person fight? Do they rush in without thinking? Are they eager for blood? Do they like close combat? Do they prefer to think up a strategy and then act? Do they try to avoid fighting at all costs? Do they like to be sneaky and attack from a tree? Are they fast, slow, agile, sluggish, have lots of endurance or none? Remember, it is all about balance. Maybe your character is very strong, but does not have much speed. Perhaps your character is very agile, but does not have strength? Balance is the key. All people have a weakness, even if just a small one, so remember to include all aspects of your characters fighting style. Also, remember to associate your character’s personality with their fighting style, and how it affects it.
Companions: Does the character have any companions? Other characters from the board? Relationships, etc.?
History: History, whether canon or custom, is important. This gives people an idea of who and what your character are. It tells us why your character is this way. Every history should include a childhood, growing up, and adult years. Now, this might seem very simple to do, but it is not. Put a lot of thought into this aspect of your character to give them a 3-D feel. Your character, unless an orphan, should know when it was born. Add a birthday. Add how your character was before getting into Ymaggion. Were they active, shy, quiet? Think about siblings and family. Describe who they are. When growing up, add some details. Make up some friends that they played with, or even a pet dog or rock! Discuss them going to school. What about their parents? How did they act in school? When did they graduate? Talk about how their character went through all the stages. Were there any major events that changed them? Think of personality and appearance. Talk about how your character achieved the status and rank they have now. Remember, we know nothing about your character, so you need to paint us the picture. At least 100 words for Epsilon and Zeta ranked characters, 50 words more for each rank up.
RP Example: Give us a sample RP post, to show us how you will RP with the character. At least two paragraphs, please, so that we can get a fairly good idea of how you will RP with them.
Extra: Want to add something extra that doesn't fit anywhere else? Quotes? Theme Songs? Anything? Then that goes here.

RP Experience: What is your experience with Role-Playing?
Rules Password: The password that is hidden within the rules of the board needs to be put here.
