Artifact/Weapon Name: ADF-01 Falken
Wielder: Ymaggion Staff Defense Forces
Type of Artifact/Weapon: Advanced Defense Fighter, type 01
Appearance of Artifact/Weapon:
The Falken has a wingspan of 15.92m, a vehicle length of 24.0mbr, a height of 6.60m, and a total weight of 23,300kg. The default paint scheme of the vehicle is a crimson red color, but others can choose other custom color schemes for the Falken they pilot.
Origin of Artifact/Weapon: In the Epsilon Project, the Genesis Armada Resistance employed the use of various mobile weapons, including fighter aircraft. During the time of the release of the Seven Beasts of the Dark Apocalypse, their mainstay unit was the X-02 Wyvern. The Genesis Guardian Resistance, however, acquired a piece of Omega Essence and put its secrets to use, creating new technologies and new weapons to combat the growing evil. Among these new weapons were the XA-26483 Ragnarok, the Dai-Excalibur, and the ADF-01 Falken. The Falken was preceded by a prototype model, the ADFX-01 Morgan, which served as a test-bed for its then-experimental weapons. This fighter had been fielded for some time before the Battle of Aube, and they quickly replaced the Wyvern in active service. The Falken is still in service two years later after the Epsilon Project concludes, now the mainstay of the Ymaggion staff's aerial defense forces, as often used to guard key locations and regions from enemy attack.
Special Abilities of the Artifact/Weapon: The Falken is a mass-produced military-grade fighter jet. This fighter craft surpasses its predecessors, the X-02 Wyvern and the ADFX-01 Morgan, in almost every field. It is propelled by a pair of WWX-GD-425 jet engines, which allows it to reach a maximum speed of Mach 2.2, making it one of the fastest combat-capable aircraft available. The unique forward-swept design of its wings, which were first fielded by the X-02 Wyvern, allow the Falken a stunning amount of maneuverability, allowing it to turn much more sharply than standard jet aircraft. The Falken is operated by a single pilot, via a cockpit located in the upraised area between the nose and fuselage of the craft. This cockpit contains a prototype of the experimental Connection for Flight Interface, or COFFIN. This COFFIN system offers a panoramic view for the pilot, by utilizing a series of cameras mounted throughout the frame of the Falken, and displaying the image across a dome of hexagonal computer screens within the cockpit. This method grants the pilot an unobstructed view while preventing others from seeing the pilot within the craft. Other computer systems for controlling the craft and the weapon systems are located beneath the computer screens, while tactical information is also displayed on the front monitor plate.
Unlike most other aircraft of its time, the Falken’s weapon systems have been completely internalized, preventing the loss of weaponry through freak accidents and preventing system errors from occurring due to weather exposure. Its primary armament includes a total of eight AIM-9M Sidewinder missiles for air-to-air and air-to-ground engagements. Four missiles are stored in containers built into the underside of each engine pod, and launched from a compartment situated on the outside of the engine pods. The most powerful weapon of the Falken, however, is its Tactical Laser System, which is mounted on a weapons pod hidden just beneath and below the cockpit. When activated, the entire nosecone and cockpit of the Falken is elevated to allow the barrel to protrude. This TLS pod fires a potent chemical laser across a vast distance. This laser is a constant stream, maintained for at least four seconds. It is proven to be very capable against both air and ground targets, and allow Falkens to engage and destroy even fortress-type vessels and mechanoids with apparent ease. As a last defense, the Falken is also equipped with a pair of 25mm multi-barreled cannons mounted on either side of the fuselage. These cannons hold eight hundred bullet rounds each.
