Name of the Technique: Righteous Fury
Creator of the Technique: Blizzard Entertainment
Type of Technique: Threat Generator
Character Rank: Beta
Rank of Technique: Delta
Element of Technique: Light
Effects of Technique: A spell that stays on the target for about thirty minutes and is most useful when being used on a body guard. The spell masks the character being protected by that target so that any attackers must first weaken the guard. This ensures that the one being protected has time to get away. If the guard is weakened too much the mask will shudder and the character being protected will be visible to hostile eyes again. When the spell is cast, the guard must speak the name of the one he is to protect for the mask to take effect.
How acquired: Training
RP Example: Valis pointed to one of the men standing nearby, "You. Guard her until you reach Darkshire. I want no harm to come to her." The soldier nodded, stepping forward and kneeling at his commander's feet. Valis waved her hand over his head and he spoke the woman's name very clearly, standing slowly and bowing.
He walked over to the woman, seen only by his eyes, and motioned to his stallion. Jumping onto his back, he helped her up, and kicked the horse in the gut to urge it forward. The black stallion reared up and lunged forward into the forest.
After a short amount of time, the soldier began to feel as if eyes were watching them from the shadows. Stopping his stallion, he looked around. Suddenly hands were around his throat and he was being shoved from the horse's back. The attacker raised a dagger high over his head, aimed at the soldier's throat. Letting forth a sharp whistle, the soldier closed his eyes for the blow as the horse leapt forward and into the shadows.
The woman held onto the mane of the animal she rode atop, feeling the warmth of the light that masked her begin to shudder. Tears slid down her face, dripping into the horse's black fur. She knew what it meant that the mask was gone. It meant the soldier had died protecting her. The slowness with which the mask had ebbed away meant it had been slow. The screams that had urged her forward meant it had been painful.
A wooden signpost signaled her entrance to Darkshire and she pulled the horse to a stop, letting her sobs be heard by the town until there were no tears left to cry.
