This thread is an alphabetical listing of any Hellspawn you can possibly encounter in Ymaggion. If you wish for this list to be expanded, go suggest a creature in the Creature Suggestion thread.
Arch-Vile
An Arch-Vile is a large, off-white demon with flaming claws, capable of summoning numerous lesser demons to aid it in battle. They are also powerful psychics and pyrokinetics, often attacking its prey by igniting fires beneath them and lashing out with a strong psychic blow that can send a person flying backwards. These psychic attacks cannot work if the Arch-Vile cannot see its intended victim. They only appear in dark, deep places of the world, such as large caves underneath the Peak. A few may even live deep within the Abandoned Mines.
Balrog
A Balrog is a tall, menacing being in the shape of a man, having control of both fire and shadow. It has a fiery whip of many thongs. The Balrog induces great terror in friends and foes alike and can shroud itself in darkness and shadow and can only be defeated by someone/thing of equal power. The only appear in the dark, deep places of the world, such as large caves underneath the Peak. A few may even live deep within the Abandoned Mines. They are large and really powerful creatures.
Claw Viper
Claw Vipers are large, serpentine demons with large, powerful arms ending in long, sharp claws, and a tail ending with a cruel bony spike. These snake-like demons, while they are not particularly tough, are incredibly strong attackers and are immune to ice magic. Claw Vipers also possess the ability produce a chilling effect through ice magic when they strike someone, freezing their bodies and making it difficult for them to move. Claw Vipers are found in desert areas, usually hiding and congregating in ruins.
Cyberdemon
A Cyberdemon is a colossal bipedal demon fused with advanced machinery. These monsters tower over humans, and are armed with a powerful missile launcher grafted into one of their arms. Cyberdemons are so large that they are able to crush smaller enemies underfoot if they get too close, and are incredibly resilient to damage, both physical and magical in nature. Cyberdemons are usually found protecting Hellmouths, gateways from Hell to the mortal plane. The only disadvantage these monstrous opponents have are their relatively low mobility.
Darkened Beast
Darkened Beasts are lithe, humanoid demons that are covered in a shroud of darkness that cannot be removed or revealed with any light save the vile lights of their eyes. As such, no physical feature of a Darkened Beast has ever been seen. Darkened Beasts are incredibly fast and agile, and have a terrible strength. They fight like enraged berzerkers, capable of emulating any kind of fighting style. They have been known to take weapons in battle. Darkened Beasts usually reside in the deepest bowels of the earth, hiding in the shadows of deep caverns.
Doom Guard
Doom Guards are demons clad in black plate mail, with helmets crowned with four curving horns, shields emblazoned with large grinning skulls, and deadly bastard swords in their hands. Doom Guards are trained as hellish footsoldiers for battle, and are masters with any kind of weapon. They typically use demonic bastard swords in battle, but if disarmed, they will find and use other weapons available to them. Their black armor is enchanted, and often difficult to pierce with normal weaponry. Doom Guards are often found in underground places, and are never found alone, often fighting alongside Imps and Megademons. No one knows what a Doom Guard looks like without its armor--when slain, a Doom Guard's body disintegrates in a bloom of fire, leaving only a pile of charred armor and ash behind.
Gargoyle
A Gargoyle is a strong, humanoid demon with wings that take the form of statues in daylight, only active at night. Gargoyles are capable of flight and are extremely agile. As such, the best way to destroy a Gargoyle is to smash apart its stone form during the day. Gargoyles are often summoned by mages and placed on the ramparts of castles, to defend them at night.
Imp
An Imp is a tall, humanoid demon with gray skin, bony scales on its arms, and ten eyes in its head. They are quick and agile, and capable of traversing many terrains, capable of climbing on any kind of surface. Imps are very aggressive creatures, attacking with sharp claws when close, or by generating fireballs in their hands and throwing them at their prey if they are too far off. Imps often appear by teleporting into a room. While not particularly strong, Imps usually attack foes in numbers, and are often summoned by Arch-Viles. The only appear in the dark, deep places of the world, such as large caves underneath the Peak.
Karognis
The Karognis is the greatest and most powerful of all demons, towering over all other demons and known to have massacre entire armies in their path. A Karognis' body is gigantic and muscular, and formed of a lower, quadrupedal lower body, and a humanoid upper body attached to its back. Its entire body is covered in stygian black scales, with metallic-looking bone plating covering the front shoulders of the beast's legs, which end in massive talons. In front of the two forelegs are short but thick arms ending in long, beak-like and serrated pincer claws. Two dorsal ridges run down the length of the creature's back down to its long tail, which ends in a cruel, scythe-like blade. A reptilian creature extends from between the two massive pincer claws, which possesses a long, snouted face with slitted reptilian eyes, and a pair of sinewy, yet strong, arms ending in sharp claws. While looking disproportionate to the rest of the body, this frontal creature is larger than a human. Above this, emerging from between the shoulder blades of the lower body is the upper half of a musclebound demon. A pulsating red orb is cradled within the creature's chest, partially exposed and constantly glowing a malevolent bloody color. More metallic-looking bone armor covers the creature's chest around the orb and across its shoulders and forearms, which end in long, sharp claws. Short, vestigial wings angle out of its back, the undersides emitting a ethereal green light--this light forms into four gigantic wings of green energy, two from each vestigial wing, when the Karognis is in flight. The head of this creature has a draconic face, with slitted glowing red eyes, ending in a cruel beak containing three rows of serrated teeth, and crowned with a five-pronged horn-like crest that slants back from its head.
The Karognis possesses many terrible abilities at its disposal. It can generate a tremendous amount of dark energy, producing it as shields or beam attacks, or augmenting its physical attacks by swathing its limbs with it. It can open various pores in its body and fire bolts of dark magic in many directions simultaneously. When in flight, the upper body's vestigial wings produce four gossamer ethereal wings of energy, which grant it unbelievable speed and agility in flight. The frontal pincer claws can extend to great lengths for surprise attacks. The red core-like orb in the creature's chest, while not a weak point, can be used to concentrate dark magic into a single blast wave. The Karognis has a colossal amount of strength, able to easily withstand the most powerful attacks. The Karognis also has a certain degree of control over weather and temperature, able to raise the temperate to scalding heights, and generate storms in the air, or creating a tornado-like shield around its body. The Karognis displays a remarkable amount of control over elemental magic, able to utilize all elements while being weak to none. Karogni are extremely rare demons, and their natural habitat is unknown--any sighting of Karogni are to be reported to Angel forces for termination, as they are too dangerous to be allowed to roam.
Maledict
The Maledict is a human being warped and transformed by the corruption of Hell and its profane magicks. The Maledict takes on a hulking, draconic form with gigantic clawed feet, torn and massive wings, and a demonic, horned skull for a face. The head and face of the human that it was created from is found on the creature's incredibly long and thick tongue, and this face is still capable of communication. They are incredibly strong and durable, and are quite fast despite their size when airborne. They are able to generate waves of flame when swooping over the ground, and able to spit large and potent fireballs. Maledicts are rare, and only found on the surface of Hell, often coordinating the soldiers of Hell.
Megademon
A Megademon is the archetypical demon, spawned in the hottest fires of Hell. These red-skinned demons are incredibly muscular, sporting harsh and angular faces crowned by a pair of long horns, large, reverse-jointed legs ending in fierce talons, and wide, leathery wings spread out from their backs. Megademons typically wield scimitars and other cruel-looking blades in combat, and are capable of breathing intense flames from its mouth. Megademons are found typically in hot places, such as on the slopes of a volcano or in deep, lava-filled caverns underground.
