Ymaggion Character Name: Wulfe
Alias: The Big Bad Wulfe
Age: 324
Gender: Male
Nationality: Unknown (Epsilon Project origins)
Rank: Beta
Strengths/Weaknesses: Wulfe’s primary strength is in his unbelievable speed and agility. His speed is rarely matched, and allows him to dominate his opponents by avoiding attacks while unleashing an endless barrage against opponents. His malleable form is also an advantage, allowing him to change his form in battle, and also allow him to create openings in his own body to prevent attacks from striking him. Wulfe, however, is insane and is not capable of working in tandem with other sentient beings, and is not capable of following complicated battle plans. Being a shadow demon, Wulfe also suffers from a severe weakness to the Light element.
Clothing/Armor: Wulfe has no use for clothing or armor, and does not wear any.
Physical Appearance: Wulfe has an amorphous body, made of erratic shadow energy. This malleable nature allows him to take many different forms, and increase or decrease his overall size and proportions at will. The only defining feature of Wulfe is his face, which only its size changes in proportion to the rest of the body. Wulfe’s face is wolven in nature, formed in a definitive snout and pointed ears, surrounding a bright white light. The mouth is bound together by elastic strands of shadow energy, which stretch when the mouth is opened. A single, glaring white eye is on the head on one side. The entire formation often gives the impression of a truly insane grin, which fits in with the creature’s personality.
Personality: Wulfe is truly insane. His mind has deteriorated, and no longer contains much cohesion. He takes to hunting things considers “evil”, and often compares himself to the “Big Bad Wolf” of the fairytale, Little Red Riding Hood, and compare his opponents to Riding Hood, and is known to quote it extensively. Wulfe himself is attracted to creatures of similar mindset, beings that have the same kinds of cruel thoughts he himself has. Wulfe does not consider the feelings, thoughts, and actions of anyone else, especially those of his enemies. He is also capable of remembering old opponents, and is known to hunt them extensively if they have escaped from him before.
Equipment: None.
Miscellaneous Items: None.
Elemental Affinity: Darkness
Special Abilities: Aside from Wulfe’s unnatural speed and agility, and his amorphous body, Wulfe has the ability to compel large amounts of dark creatures to his side in battle, including the familiars he can summon, Ing, Heartless, and Nightmares, and even some demons with a Darkness alignment. While not capable of controlling them in a true sense, these compelled creatures will be drawn to attack Wulfe’s opponents, and will not assault Wulfe himself.
Transformations:
Shadowshifting – Wulfe’s amorphous body is capable of molding to Wulfe’s will, and is capable of many different forms. This ability can allow him to compact himself into a form capable of fitting through small spaces, or grow in size to become truly gargantuan. Most commonly, Wulfe assumes a form of a wolf, walking about on four limbs. When in combat, Wulfe takes on a form similar to a werewolf, walking now on two legs while attacking with two arms. Despite the general size, which is roughly 7 to 8 feet in height and broad in form, his speed does not diminish. While capable of vaguely mimicking the forms of other creatures, he is not capable of replicating those creature’s natural abilities. Shadowshifting also allows Wulfe to warp his body in a way to prevent attacks from striking him.
Techniques:
1. Shadowblaze
Super Techniques:
1. Familiar Swarm
Battle Style: Wulfe’s combat style has two fronts, but does not deviate much in its execution. Wulfe will draw in any creatures of darkness, including his own swarm of familiars, to surround and harry his opponents, allowing Wulfe to single out one of them and cut the rest off using the other creatures. Wulfe himself attacks by repeatedly circling his opponents at rapid speeds, often appearing as a blur, while continually striking at his opponent in the process.
Companions: Other than the compelled creatures of darkness that may be nearby, Wulfe has no true companions, though he is capable of making alliances with beings that have similar thought patterns to himself. This does not necessarily mean, however, that he considers them companions and does not follow their orders.
History: Wulfe is an artificial shadow demon created by a cult as an instrument to track down and secure, or destroy, corrupted beings. Wulfe hunted out the targets with impunity, finding each with acute senses and incapacitating them to return them Wulfe’s masters, or killing them outright if necessary. However, the various corruptions that Wulfe was exposed to corroded the demon, and Wulfe’s mind became increasingly unstable, causing his once-stable and sound body to grow increasingly erratic and demented in appearance. As he continued in on his missions, creatures of darkness and evil in the areas he traveled to increased in number, seemingly drawn to Wulfe’s presence, further exposing him to corruptive forces. Eventually, Wulfe came to the mindset that all of humanity was corrupted and was to be eliminated. With this new objective, Wulfe began to destroy his targets whatever the amount of corruption they had, along with any others that got in the way. Finally, Wulfe turned on his masters, and eliminated the cult that had created him in the first place.
Now free, Wulfe began hunting who he believed to be the most corrupt beings of humanity, traveling across the world alone to do so. The people he sought to kill were in fact beings pure of heart, those who allied themselves with the side of good. Often he found himself drawn to those full of darkness and vicious, cruel thoughts, feeling a bond similar to that of kinship to them. Creatures of darkness would routinely congregate in the area he was located in, causing problems where he went. When the Seven Beasts of the Dark Apocalypse took control of the world, the population of dark creatures increased dramatically, making Wulfe’s presence even more dangerous. In one particular city in southern Japan, Wulfe encountered Matt Willard, Hugo, R.D., Helena Hiroshi, and X, and used his power to compel the Ing inhabiting the city into attacking them. During the fierce battle, Wulfe engaged first against R.D., and then Matt Willard, before being driven off. As a last ditch effort, Wulfe compelled the entire population of Ing, along with three World Eater spiders, into attacking the group. However, they managed to escape via Chaos Control.
Wulfe continued his wanderings, destroying even more he came across, until in one city he came within the vicinity of a being filled with such true corruption that he was drawn to him like a moth to a flame, declaring that the being, a Guise known as Michael, was filled with such cruel thoughts that he was kindred in a way. After a discussion, Wulfe found himself face-to-face with R.D. once more and immediately attacked. Unable to call in any ally as backup, R.D. was pressed into a corner, until he was finally rescued by the surprising return of his friend Matt, who once more drove Wulfe off. Again, Wulfe returned to wandering the world, hailing to no true master but always attracted to beings of good, declaring them corruptions in need of destruction. This would continue on until he was lured into a trap. After a fearsome battle, Wulfe was ensnared in a vortex that drew him into an enchanted tome and sealed away, trapped within its pages. The book was then taken to an unknown location, and Wulfe’s reign of terror in the Epsilon Project came to an end.
Nearly three years later, that same enchanted tome was found by a pair of exploring players, who, despite their better judgment, opened up the book and released Wulfe into Ymaggion. Wulfe declared these two to be quite naughty indeed, in the common fashion of Little Red Riding Hood, but thanked them both for releasing him, and spared the two of them as he escaped into the new gameworld, intent on returning to his previous mission of eliminating any and all corruption.
RP Example: A strange howling giggle filled the air, echoing in such a way it was impossible to discern where it came from.
"My, my," it spoke, "What big eyes you all have."
R.D. looked around, trying to figure out the owner of the voice his. He had his Phase Blade drawn, ready to attack any Ing that came near. Dark shapes began moving in the shadows along the surrounding rooftops, as something flit back and forth between them. Matt felt put off by the threat's strange laughter. "...the hell is that?" he asked, as Helena scrambled to her feet. Drawing his own energy blade, he held it at an angle, the flat part of the blade to his face.
"Dunno," Hugo remarked, "but he's about to have a bad day."
X was getting a little angry. X was being ignored. In fact, X distinctly remembered them having ignored him the last time he encountered them.
X was going to resolve his anger by beating the crap out of them, at least, he hoped he would. Activating his buster, X started firing. Though the target was not specified in the narrative, it is irrelevant; there was no target. X was just firing wildly in any direction hoping to hit something.
One way or another, he was going to make his presence known.
The being continued to flit between shadows, entering and exiting at random. Its voice mocked the two teen boys as they drew their weapons, its laughter making their skin crawl. Each shot that was fired at it missed, the being was way too fast. R.D. noted the shots were coming from the street, but he was much too concerned about the being to respond.
"My, what big teeth you have, too."
"Show yourself!" R.D. shouted, getting more and more nervous. He did not like this one bit. "C'mon, you coward!"
The entity responded to R.D.'s demand, and something shot out from the shadows, streaking high over the group and landing behind them. It padded around and sat down on its haunches... like a wolf. Only this wolf was unlike anything R.D. had ever seen.
It seemed to be a creature of shadow magic, its body made up completely of black, jagged energy that flailed around it. It was shaped vaguely like a wolf, only larger than one. Its mouth seemed strung together by the energy, yet elastic for when it moved. A eerie white light glowed from within, and only one of its eyes could be seen, a white sphere that glowed just as brightly. Its muzzle stretched back in a wide, insane grin.
"Why so hostile, little children?" it spoke, its voice simultaneously high- and low-pitched, making it an uncomfortable, rumbling whine much like a shriek and a growl.
X was also not used to a Z-axis, so he felt quite embarrassed when he realized that between the ground he was on and the roof they were on was a mass of... mass.
Secretly hoping that no one had noticed his little outburst, X darted inside the building and made his way to the roof. When he arrived, he casually made conversation.
"Hey guys. Crazy gunman, down there, eh? Don't worry, I got rid of 'im." Then he noticed the "wolf". "Um...is this a bad time? 'Cause I can always come back..."
"What the f**k do you think?" Hugo snapped.
Matt remained focused on the wolflike creature, his sword still at the ready. Sure, it looked like some funky bastard...but after dealing with Malvettix, he was getting better at confronting what made him afraid. Despite the slight tremble to his form, his voice remained confident. "What the hell are you supposed to be?" he asked the wolf.
R.D. spared a brief glance at X, raising his eyebrow at the newcomer's appearance. "I seriously hope you're here to help us," he muttered just loud enough for X to hear.
"Haaaaaaaah," the creature let out like a sigh, looking back and forth between the group and X almost leisurely and addressed them all. "You haven't forgotten, have you? Silly child. Don't you remember me?"
R.D. was frowning and fell into a ready stance as the beast stepped forward. As it moved, it seemed to grow larger--or perhaps everything else was shrinking. He blinked. Was the creature distorting everything around it? He blinked again and stared--around the building, on the seperate rooftops, it seemed smaller versions of this monster were gathering in mass, all of them staring with an insane gaze as they swarmed around.
"Hahahahahaha," it giggled in a throaty rasp, "I'm the Big Bad Wulfe."
