Kite was in the middle of an alley in the core. He had no idea how, or why, but he was there. He looked over at Rua and Alasea. He suddenly looked up and saw Masterchief appear to fall out of light in the sky,
At least we're not dead...
He then saw the glaive still inside Masterchief.
Spoke too soon!
Kite struggled to get up on his feet, "Chief!"

What had happened? What horrible fate had been bestowed upon them? First that terrible trek through the mountains, the horrible waiting in the tower. The dread warning left by the construct, and being set upon by that giant serpent, waiting in the darkness of the caverns. Then, three among them died, but came back again. The castle. There was a castle, and in it that voice warning them of their doom at the hands of the monster known as Tsindary. They battled the monster, or at least they tried. It had been futile, their most tenacious warrior struck down by a single blow, thrown across the room and rendered useless. Something happened, and now... here?
Alasea opened her eyes, and barely had the chance to roll away as the green armor, all 750 pounds of it, crashed to the ground with a loud clatter on stone.
"Chief!" she exclaimed, standing, eyes wide with shock, her hands covering her mouth. She couldn't stop staring at the armor, with that massive glaive jammed through its torso.

Kite looked upon the Chief as he finally got up and looked at the mess that was John-117. The Glaive was clean through him. Kite was unfortunately doubtful as to the Chief's life signs.
"Always had to be the hero to the last breath...damn you...leaving me here with nothing to be able to do for you in return."
Kite picked up the cell phone in his pocket that gave him direct access to headquarters and ordered for guards to come take the chief away to the hospital so that he could officially be pronounced dead. He made the call quickly then fell back against the wall, with a thumb jamming into his forehead.
First Blane, now Chief, this is it...it is me.

The armor of the Spartan slowly sagged in, and the weapon that had taken the life of the warrior tilted and fell from the armor with no hold. Cortana's voice broke through the speakers sounding distraught but firm, "The Chief isn't gone for good, but he would have been if I hadn't done something. I had to reconnect his mind to the server, I don't know what that thing did, but if John hadn't been reconnected, he would've been put into a coma just like Blane and the others. His armor should've been transferred to the spawning area with a normal death, but because of the circumstances it's still here... There's so many things wrong with what just happened; that creature broke so many laws the system has... it has to be taken care of."
Several angels soon filled the area and lifted the armor without a word.

The Angels that appeared were lead by the only Staff on duty at the Administration Tower currently, one Samus Aran. Clad in her Varia Suit, the woman marched into the alleyway to see Rua, Alasea, and Kite, each surrounding the Master Chief's damaged and impaled armor--only one of the people here she was on relatively good terms with, as Alasea was an ally to all of the Staff as a Daughter of Dawn, while Rua couldn't be trusted and Kite... well, Kite was just difficult to work with.
Frowning at the predicament, she quickly gave orders for the strongest of the Angels present to transport the MJOLNIR armor back to the Administration for repairs. As the armor was removed from the vicinity, Samus switched to her Scan Visor and scanned the suit, noting the amount of damage it had received, as well as accessing the subroutines to disengage Cortana's A.I. chip from the suit completely. Taking the chip out of the back of the head, she sighed and inserted the chip into her own Chozo Armor so she could communicate directly with Cortana, allowing her to display the recordings of what happened and any data needed about the event.
"Alright, Cortana," she said, "Tell me and show me what happened. The Staff's in an uproar at what happened, and we need to know why."

Cortana didn't skip a beat with her reply, "The Chief's vacation Hike went wrong," she said simply while pulling up several images of the area they'd been travelling in. "Long story short, we ended up in a castle with a few things that broke so many system laws that are in place in the system." Playing the small clip of the Chief's last attempt to take down Tsindary, Cortana rounded things off, "The Chief got taken down in one hit from this guy in an attempt to stop him from massacring Kite." Cortana paused, and added in a lower voice incase her voice somehow escaped out of the armor, "And there's another thing that the staff need to know about without him present."

Samus' frown only deepened when Cortana explained the situation, shaking her head slightly as the clip played. "I've never seen a creature that could do that. Looks like an Adamantine Golem," she mused, "But we've never seen any of that kind that was that big. Or with that kind of abilities."
As the Chief's armor was carted away, Samus quickly browsed through the uploaded data Cortana had supplied her with. "This doesn't make any sense at all. You didn't detect any readings of the glitch, or any kind of glitch, for that matter. And that virus wasn't there, either. We're lucky you managed to reconnect him back into the system, Cortana. Right now he's busy respawning, but its taking an unusual amount of time. Its like lag, but we can't determine the cause. Other than that, he should be fine, and alive within an hour or so. As for needing to talk..."
She suddenly trailed off as she watched the others present. Alasea was trying to tend to Rua, who was holding onto his arm. He looked like crap, and even though she didn't trust the young man, she felt sorry for the state he was in--the blow the golem had delivered to him looked extremely painful. However, as Alasea tended to him, he suddenly shook his head and shrugged her off, stomping up to a wall despite his girlfriend's protests. Samus' eyes widened when she realized what he was going do do. With a savage grimace on his face, Rua suddenly threw himself into the wall, dislocated shoulder first. There was a horrible crunching noise as the shoulder was popped back into place, and everyone present, including the Angels, winced as a pained screamed ripped from Rua's throat. Alasea herself looked away the moment he did it, then quickly walked over to him as she walked over to him, quickly and quietly scolding him as she tended to his other wounds with a Healing Palm technique.
"That boy just doesn't learn," she muttered, then raised her voice. "Okay, everyone back to the Administration Tower. Kite, Rua, Alasea, you report there too. We're going to need everything you know about what happened."

Kite realized something; Cortana recorded everything from that trip, including his speech on his lack of trust for the staff and why. He couldn't have his cover blown that quickly; if the other staff found out it was him that got that data, the inside man could take him out easily. Regardless, he couldn't be put off by his own feelings at the minute, he looked at his own wounds, he had taken numerous deep slash wounds from the projectiles in the cave, each every last one of them stung like the dickens. He could manage though, he wasn't nearly as beaten as Rua or Alasea, much less the Chief. He walked towards the core and its offices, then accessed the administrative terminal, proceeding to erase all data that he had gathered on the beta killings, but not before saving it to his own personal disk. He then went back to where everyone was going to for debriefing.
This should be fun...not

As the group entered the Administration Tower, Samus turned and ordered Rua, Alasea, and Kite all to go to the infirmary to be patched up, then report to a debriefing room before heading there herself. As she made her way to the doorway, she saw Kite go over to the terminal and access it. It only angered her that he didn't get himself taken care of, and as he did whatever on the terminal, three shots from the Power Beam tore right through the monitor, shredding it to pieces.
"I said," she started off slowly, "Get to the infirmary. Now."
Her voice left no room to argue. Frowning, Alasea took Rua by the hand and lead him to the infirmary so he could be fully healed, as his botched relocation of his shoulder and her own healing spells was hardly enough to repair all of the damage inflicted by Tsindary's hammer and the resultant trip across the throne room and into its entryway door.

Kite wasn't about to take orders from someone who couldn't actually order him around, much less, that almost hit the disk. He couldn't really be in much of a worse mood for something like that to happen. Kite waited until Rua and Alasea were out of earshot with Samus still standing there.
"Piss off! Comparing my minor cuts, to Rua's broken and dislocated bones I'd be more worried about him than the admin who took a few slices, " Kite shouted finally snapping and letting his anger surge. He stopped himself and realized that his speech was overly brusque, and he would probably get power beamed in the face for it.
"I'll get patched up later, let the medics worry about the severe ones before the minor ones."
Regardless, his goal was complete, no one could access files on the beta killings in the peak. No one would know why Kite was up there except for the parties involved, to an extent. Kite went over his mission in his head. He found what was killing all the betas that went up there. The mission was to answer one question: why were they there in the first place?

There was a sharp hum of energy as Samus' Grapple Beam activated, the energy tether shooting out and latching onto the metal studs of Kite's belt. Forcibly, Samus literally dragged Kite along the path to the infirmary. "As you may not know," Samus started in coldly as she brought Kite along, "There were several reports of the virus infested throughout the lands beyond the Great Wall. While Cortana didn't detect any signs of the virus, there's no telling what happened up there. If there's even the slightest chance any of you were infected by the virus, I'm not taking the chance of that infection spreading into the Administration Tower's systems. All of you are getting screened, including Cortana and now, thanks to her being in my armor's system, myself."
Alasea was staring as Samus dragged Kite along. "Come on, Kite," she said, trying once again to moderate, "She's got a point. Besides, you might have minor wounds, but that thing could've infected you with some sort of poison. We don't know what that thing was capable of."

Kite mulled over his options. He had finished everything. It would be best not to act a scene out and risk blowing the lid on his objectives,"Fine, won't do you much good though."
He kept an extremely stoic look as he walked to the infirmary planning out his options for figuring out why the betas were going up there.

The stay in the infirmary had been uneventful, at the very least. Alasea, who had not been harmed during the battle, only underwent a viral scan and a mana replenishment before coming out as all clear. Rua and Kite were quickly treated for their injuries, though Rua's took decidedly longer, having taken the most damage. As the physicians and healers looked over the six of them, Rua kept a stoic, annoyed expression on his face--he never really did care for this kind of thing; his attitude had been the same each and every time. As one healer shined a light in one eye, then the other, he felt compelled to ask:
"Tell me. What could possibly be in my eye?"
Samus had left the room shortly after her check-up concluded, the tests negative. She made her way towards the repair station with Cortana's A.I. chip in hand. Upon arriving, she inserted the A.I. back into the system, then made her way over to the viewscreen. On the other side, the MJOLNIR armor was displayed, undergoing intensive repairs as the glaive was carefully extracted from the ruined armor. "At least its salvageable," Samus said. "I don't know when the repairs will be complete. What's the estimate?" she asked of Cortana.

"Six hours on the armor," Cortana replied quickly, "we have all the materials here and it wasn't practically decimated like the last time it was here. They know the structure of the armor so everything should go rather smoothly. John has just respawned himself actually, he's being kept in the administrator's infirmiry right now. That blow really did a number on him." Cortana pulled up the viewing screen of the Master Chief without his armor. Deathly pale and half conscious, he lay on a bed with a large bandage over his chest. "While technically the wound is gone from the respawn, we don't know what we're dealing with here so we have some depressants in the bandages incase anything should appear. At least it wasn't as bad as last time."

Samus frowned. "Talking about when he armed the nuclear explosive in it?" she asked rhetorically, an eyebrow raised slightly. She checked the data taken from the glaive that had been used against the armor. It was mostly enchanted with sharpening spells, magic enhancements meant to increase physical damage. However, it was a purely physical aspect and had no chance at doing any real damage against an energy barrier, especially superior barrier systems employed in the MJOLNIR and Chozo exosuits. Yet this weapon was thrown with enough force to pierce such a barrier, suggesting that the enemy was a severe threat.
After all, it took down both a Beta Tester and an Administrator, both of whom tended to be extremely tenacious bastards in combat, without much effort.
Pressing a button on the console, Samus switched the camera feed to back into the infirmary. Kite, Alasea, and Rua were still there, it seemed; Rua seemed to be raising a fuss like he usually did. "Well, we're not gonna get much better of a chance to talk," Samus said, "Kite's still in the infirmary."
