Ymaggion Character Name: Tora
Alias: Torab
Age: 26
Gender: Male
Nationality: Japanese
Rank: Beta
Strengths/Weaknesses:
Strengths
Weaknesses:
Clothing/Armor: Tora has the defined appearance of a rough Samurai warrior. He wears flat worn out sandals revealing his foot up to his shins, which are covered by red plates with a fading silver trim. Baggy linen pants are tucked into the bands of these guards, and a strong black leather belt with a brazen buckle holds up the grayed pants. His shirt has been torn so many times it often is not worn by Tora. Hand wrist guards are worn, extending from halfway past his elbow to the beginning of his fingers on the back of his hand. He wears a bloodstained bandanna that covers his forehead and holds his hair in place.
Physical Appearance: Tora stands at six feet and four inches, an impressive height for someone of his own nationality. He has a medium amount of fair black hair, held together by his bandanna. Underneath the bandanna is a horizontal slash mark from a previous battle. Dark brown eyes sit in the middle of his Asian complexion. A relatively small nose and mouth finish off the facial features, all set into roughened skin.
His whole body is powerful; the strong frame of Tora holds muscles an athlete would compliment. His hands are callused from hard daily work and are often clenched, even when he is not holding his weapons. The lower portion of his body matches the rest, oversized and destructive. He weighs approximately 220 pounds.
Personality: Tora is often thought of as a gruff individual, but this type of personality is normally just what a bystander would see. Within comfortable company, Tora is a caring protective young man, who often feels it is his duty to make things work out to the way they should. This has caused him many downfalls, and Kero often has to keep him in-check in this area.
Though he is constantly trying to break this habit, Tora has the tendency to use his body as his negotiator. Though this has been shown to work often, Kero’s dislike for it has made Tora attempt to refrain from this habit.
When it comes to rules or authorities, Tora has some small distrust to them, but he is often quite pleasant to them. This goes for most anyone, though, Ymaggion or real world. Unless he has an express reason to dislike someone, they will not generally find something dislikable in him.
Equipment: The Samurai Armor of Ancients:
Tora’s Samurai Armor has a couple of unique abilities that he as learned to use quite effectively. He has unlocked the second level for the projectile reflection ability.
Dai Katanas of Disintegration: A pair of two-handed Katanas with incredible destructive abilities when used properly.
Miscellaneous Items: Tora’s Wedding Ring: Tora took his wedding ring from the real world and found a way to digitize it and place it into Ymaggion. The ring only carries one small trait, and that is that he may know subconsciously if his wife is near or if she is still living for that matter. This will only work if she is wearing her ring at the same time.
Elemental Affinity: None
Special Abilities: None
Transformations: Lover’s Unity:
Tora and Kero join mindsets bound by their rings to create a unity unbreakable by outside force. While in this unity, they will attack perfectly in sync with the other, and attacks of the same type will be doubled in power from each end. During this transformation if one is hurt, so is the other, and if one is healed, so is the other.
Techniques:
1. Double Sword Blitz
2. Ground Slash
3. Sky Drill
Super Techniques:
1. Sword Requiem
2. Power of Ancients
Battle Style: Tora’s natural battle style has become that of fighting with another person, namely Kero. He can often be found creating dire combinations with the other person by one opening an opening in the enemy, and then having the other strike. Alone though, Tora is much more vulnerable and tends to rely on his techniques more often. He will normally take the defense against an opponent and when an opportunity opens, a counter attack will be made. This is not to say Tora is not lethal fighting alone, but he is simply more effective and more trained when fighting with another.
Companions:Tora almost always travels with his wife, Kero.
History: Tora was born to a traditional Japanese family in the south portion of Japan. He quickly learned English as a second language as was the law in that portion, and he quickly grew a life devoid of any strange or terrible tragedy. Occasionally a distant relative died, and once the family had to move, but apart from this Torakichi Midorikawa led a life one could find hard to complain about.
School came through his life quickly, and Tora passed with grades slightly above average, but nothing to be too proud of. He soon moved into his college years at the nearby university, and like many, no matter what nationality, it was a time that would change his life.
He met Kero in one of his classes at the school, courted her for a respectable year and after deciding he was indeed deeply in love with her, asked her hand in marriage. After six months of engagement, the two were finally happily wed, and Tora realized that his life had gone nearly perfect. Fate had to have something in store for him.
Tora was slightly superstitious, due to his heritage and nationality, and decided he may have used up Japan’s good fortune. The two decided to move to America’s west coast, both of them were slightly adventurous, and decided to strengthen their bonds by traveling with one another. This is where problems first entered their lives for the first noticeable time.
Small problems showed up at first, with apparent simple resolves. Kero and Tora had to wrap up different things at their jobs, and this caused them to not be able to leave at the same time. Not too large of a problem, the days would only be changed slightly, and there would only be 48 or so hours apart.
Kero was to go first, and her plane left without incident, however, Tora faced more problems. One thing began to pile onto another, first the airport suffered a bomb threat, and to follow the orders it was shut down. Time went on, and the threat continued. The local officials could not find the source, and were too scared to re-open it should something actual happen. Meanwhile Tora was driven mad, only being able to keep contact with short long distant calls. No airport was within reasonable distance of his slightly secluded place in Japan, and soon prices in the entire area became near overwhelming, making travel out nearly impossible.
Crime became more popular in the area, and Tora had his passport stolen from him. Even when the airport did open several months later, Tora had no way of leaving, and the officials were so scared that some of the crime might leave the city and go elsewhere, passports were nearly impossible to get a hold of. Soon, Tora began to become sick of his country, feeling it was purposefully boxing him in, and he soon refused to even speak the language. Meanwhile he was also torn up by the ability to not see his beloved wife.
Finally, a savior came into sight. The idea seemed so perfect, that a game could connect the two souls no matter where they were in the world? Tora phoned Kero quickly and the two quickly saved money to buy the game and the equipment for it. The two spent much time in the game, quickly becoming powerful players as they protected one another. Soon, their jobs in the real world were abandoned, and Tora picked up a job from the local Ymaggion center that had been set up. No administrator, but just a sentinel in the server. Given high armaments, he was able to do his job well and pay for himself as well as Kero while they both stayed in the game for often days at a time, only leaving to eat or use the restroom.
RP Example: Tora sheathed both of his massive Katanas, standing up after finishing a battle with Kero. “Is that the last of them?” He asked quietly, examining the bodies his blades had torn through.
“I think so,” his wife replied. It had been a long day. Traveling even slightly outside of the wall was treacherous indeed, but players of their caliber could do it if they really had to, and so they did. It had been not been just one long day, but three to be exact. Sent out to investigate a hybrid monster that had escaped from a convoy headed to Traicen, Kero and Tora had gone from the frying pan and into the fire time and time again. Surveying the carnage though, Tora was not worried, their teamwork had yet to fail.
Extra: Tora’s wife is Kero Midorikawa.
Tora works for the system, clearing up loose ends and acting as a sentinel in the game.
