Edited my last part with pictures of the treasure card and blank card, just so ya'll know.
==============================================
Sure enough, the next day came. 15 Duelists eventually made their way into the lab, stopping in the viewing room where Professor Winter stood, waiting. After a small time of waiting to see if anyone else was going to show(and noone did), Winter quieted the room and began to speak.
"I see many of you are willing to test the system. Good, good. Now then, a thing I forgot to tell you in the tape...", Winter then opened his long jacket, revealing multiple decks in many, many pockets. "Is that I'll be competing with you all as well. With my partner Professor Kai working the system. If I win, you all walk home with nothing. So I suggest you give it your all."
Winter closed his coat back up. He was getting annoyed at half the crowd staring in awe. "Now then, take a look out there." the Professor pointed at the viewing glass, and all the Duelists did what he said. A giant digital board hung from the ceiling. "We're going to randomize the names to see who faces who. Get ready."
The board cycled through names for a minute or two and the results ended up being; Zackarias vs John, Warren vs Nathan, Xing vs Gabriel, Luke vs Skye, Denzi vs Dean, Winter vs Bowie, Dante vs Trish, and Wren vs Nerwel. Most of the Duelists were psyched, but one of the ones who weren't was Wren. Looked like she might not be able to get her revenge.
"Now then.", Winter continued. "We'll have a six minute recess before each Duel, including this one. That gives plenty of time for socializing or whatever it is you people do. That is all for now." And in an instant, the Duelists began talking again.
Winter continued staring at the screen. "Bowie huh? Wonder if David or Joey is part of his namesake...", he thought... and then his continued thoughts were broken by an familiar noise. "Hey old man!", said Zack. "Don't call me that.", Winter replied. "But it seems so fitting... Anyway! I just wanted to thank you for doing the whole Tournament deal. Okay? Kay bye now!"
And he was off... this time to bug Luke! Luke saw him coming and... somehow didn't mind. It was strange. He guessed that there may be truth to the old saying of how you could tell things about someone by how they Dueled. And so the two chatted about random things. Zack going on, and Luke giving small responses here and there. Typical stuff I guess. Maybe.
Wren approached Denzi. I mean come on. The guy was minding his own business and then she had to try and start something. "You better make it.", she said to the German Biker guy. "Uh, thanks I think.", he let out. "The only one who should be able to crush you is me, got it?", and with that, she left.
Sheesh. Anyway time passed and soon the first match was to begin. Zackarias versus some dude named John. Both Duelists went to the Dueling Arena and got on their respective sides. Winter's' voice then came over the microphone. "These first sets of rounds will be using the 2000 life points ruling. Begin when you are ready."
Both Duelists drew five cards and stared eachother down.

Bit shorter than usual, but that's because of it being late. I'll do a bit longer one tomorrow to make up for it. ============================================== Various Duelists in the viewing were cheering. Most for Zack. The boy simply smiled and waved, but then noticed his opponent, staring at the ground and looking timid. "Hey now! Don't worry about it. Just show 'em whatcha got!" This seemed to cheer John up a little. John had chosen to use a modified version of the Battle City Disk if he advanced, incase ya wanna know. Zack would just use one of the testing lab ones. "I'll go first!", Zackarias declared, drawing his sixth card and adding it to his hand. He looked at what he drew for a little bit. It was the Sinister Serpent. While the kid felt a connection to all his cards, it was this one and one other that seemed the to have the strongest ones. He quickly snapped out of it though. "I'll set a monster first. Then I activate Frontline Base!", And like the Duel with Luke, the base walls rose at the edges, a wonderful site. "That'll do." John drew, and suddenly the look on his face changed. "I call upon the Mystical Moon!" And sure enough, it became night-time around the arena(arguably making it even harder to see through the small haze), the full moon large and glowing in the air. Instead of being a equipment card like it normally would, it was acting as a Field Spell, causing the Frontline Base to crumble. Zackarias growled at this a little in response. John broke in. "I'll also set a monster. And that'll be that." Zack drew. And in the viewing box, Winter had his own personal comment. "Seems like this new kid is just trying to mimic the one with the fame..." The XYZ lover smirked a bit and flipped the monster he set, Cyber Jar. In an instant, John's' set monster was sucked up by the Jar, which then sucked itself in."Now we both draw five cards, and any monster have to be special summoned in either position." John was now the ticked one as both drew their five cards. Zackarias managed to set a card and bring forth Sangan. John called on Wulf, Lightsworn Beast, empowered by the moon, and a set monster as well. The other cards drawn, the players got to keep. "This kid is pathetic...", Winter commented to himself. "Now I'll place a face-down and end my turn." John hesitated a little as he drew, then coming to his decision. "I'll place a face-down too! Then I flip Giga-Tech Wolf! Your move." This wolf was also empowered by the moon, oddly. Zack was confused. With his empowered monsters, he could've easily attacked. Something was up. Was the kid hesitant with the new rules or something? Huh... Oh well. He drew, something told him this match was gonna be either long, or dragged out. Bah... ============================================== Also, added a pic of the Academy Disk to a section way back, go find it if ya want.

"What's up with that kid?! He coulda easily cut through Zack's' monsters!", one of the Duelists complained in the viewing room. John felt the negative vibes coming from that area and began to be timid again. Zackarias called out. "Hey, you seem to like wolves, huh?" John perked up a little, "Yeah. Course I do!" "Then start actin' like one! I'll show ya how!" The dark brown haired Duelist then placing a card down somewhat dramatically. "I call upon my Shining Angel!" For the second time, the angel descended from the skies. "Now I summon the power of Heavy Storm!" Soon enough, a gigantic storm formed, much like the storm the Giant Trunade Luke played caused, only to a tad lesser degree. The storm swept up and destroyed the two face-downs the players had laid, and its lightning short circuited and destroyed the Giga-tech Wolf as well. The Moon however stayed. Since when was the Moon destroyed by a simple storm? John was a bit frightened at the sight, also including a new look in Zackarias's' eyes. "I'm not done just yet", Zack continued. "I'll put down a face-down. Now come on! Show me what you're made of!" John stared at the Mystical Moon for a bit, and then at his last standing monster, Wulf. Wulf noticed, and in turn nodded toward its master, its alpha. "Alright!", John called, now having a new found confidence. "I'll show you!", he drew his next card, and more of the Duelists in the viewing room seemed to accept him more. "People can really get into this game...", Winter thought. Was it negative or positive? Who knows. "I'll start with Monster Reborn to bring back my Ryko, Lightsworn Hunter!" The proud wolf that was swallowed by the Cyber Jar was brought back, ready to fight. "Now I'll offer both of my Wolves with Synthesis Spell, in order to bring forth..." The two Lightsworn monsters soon were enveloped in a tower of swirling energy, causing about half the Duelists to cover their eyes from the light. The tower flew off and disappeared, and there stood... " Lycanthrope!" How ironic that two Wolves of Light had become what seemed like a Werewolf of the night. Zack wouldn't help but smile. "Now Lycanthrope! Destroy Sangan!", John ordered, and there werewolf leaped at the small Fiend. "I flip my trap, Waboku!", Zackarias called, doing so. And as such, a barrier formed around all of Zack's' monsters, protecting them from the attack. One of the Duelists in the viewing couldn't help but ask Professor Winter. "Why'd Zack do that? Wouldn't it have been a good thing for Sangan to get destroyed?" Winter just shook his head. "That attack would've ended the Duel." The asking Duelist looked confused. "Lycanthrope's' ability, plus it getting amplified by the Mystic Moon..." "It would've taken all his life points!", the Duelist finished. "Exactly." "Your turn!", John said, now in a rather nice mood. Zackarias drew, still in his 'fierce mode'. "I'll start with that Moon, with the Mystical Space Typhoon!" As the Typhoon began to form, John couldn't help but chuckle a bit. "You think a Typhoon can reach the Moon?" "If it's a Space Typhoon it can!", Zack called, taking John off guard. And sure enough, the cyclone reached and drilled through the Mystical Moon, destroying it. "Now I'll switch all my monsters to defense mode and call upon the Reflect Bounder in attack mode!" John knew this thing. Not a creature to attack. "I'll end with a face-down.", The image of the card formed, and John drew his card. Winter was a little uneasy now. The new rules hadn't been working except for that Moon and Typhoon. Maybe not as many cards were changed as he might've guessed... No, there had to be more to it. Perhaps it was that certain cards acted different ways to other certain cards. Hmm... "I'll now call upon the great Forest now! And sure enough, a great forest soon grew around the battle field, Lycanthrope again being empowered, though not as much a degree as from the Mystic Moon. Things didn't look that great for Zackarias, he'd need some good cards to take this mighty beast down...

"Wow, both sure got fierce huh?", one Duelist in the viewing room commented to another. The other simply nodding in agreement. "I'm not stopping with Lycanthrope!", John called. "I'll also summon forth my Plague Wolf!" And like so, a Zombified Wolf rose from the ground. "Now my Plague Wolf, destroy Sangan!" The Beast had no problem clawing down the Fiend. "And now I get to add a monster to my hand...", Zackarias commented slyly. He chose Z-Metal Tank. At last, an XYZ card. "No problem.", John shrugged off. "Now, Lycanthrope! Destroy the Shining Angel!" Again, monster of ripped through easy. "And now, I get to special summon Y-Dragon Head.", is it me or is Zack having mood swings? But yes, a metallic red Dragon soon swept down from above, ready for battle. "Gah, nothing more I can do.", John let out. Zackarias drew. "Now to summon my Z-Metal Tank!", and like that, a metal yellow tank came down. "Now my two machines! Combine into the YZ-Tank Dragon!" The Y-Dragon Head and the Z-Metal Tank had no problems converting and combining into one machine. "Alright! Here's where it ends!"< Zack called to John, also pointing at him dramatically. "You lie! That thing could never kill my Lycanthrope!", John replied. "You'll see what I have in mind! I activate Tribute to the Doomed! So by discarding one card..." He did so, and soon Plague Wolf was ensnared in a bunch of mummy wraps, then destroyed. "He is gone! And the card I discarded was my Sinister Serpent, meaning his comes right back to my hand!" John expression turned to shocked for a bit, but then he recovered. "You still don't have enough power to take Lycanthrope out!" "Glad you pointed that out!", Zack called, then placing down another Spell card. "I call on Graceful Charity!" "Okay, if I can just get the right card...", Zackarias thought, focusing on his Deck. He then drew three cards and discarded two. And of course, Sinister Serpent was one of them, so it just returned. "Alright!", Zackarias cheered at what he drew. "Now I'll flip my trap, Ring of Destruction! A metal ring with flames jetting out was soon launched and fashioned around Lycanthrope's' neck. "Now he'll be destroyed! And our life points with take the hit of his attack points!" "But... then the Duel will be a tie!", John called. And right then, the werewolf went up in flames. And as they cleared, a large shield was seen infront of Zack. "The Ring of Defense..." John fell to his knees as his life points dropped to 0. After he'd finally found his nerve, he was just utterly destroyed. And soon he felt the pain. The pain that felt like an icy knife in the back. Zackarias over and offered a hand. "You did great.", he complimented. John smirked and took his hand. The two walked back to the viewing area. The Duelists there clapped for both of them. John thanked Zack for helping him with his nerve and went to sit down. "Nicely done, for amatuers...", Winter commented. "Alright. You all have your recess. I'll be in my office if any of you need me." Winter left, and the Duelists began their talking. The next match was these guys named Warren and Nathan. Zack decided to seek this Warren dude. He sounded interesting. And off he looked, asking around and such.

After a tiny bit of looking, Zackarias managed to fine the guy called Warren. He seemed like an alright guy. "Hey-oh." Warren greeted, seeing the kid walking toward him. Zack waved. "So yer next eh? Wassup? Whatcha thinkin'? What's goin' on? And-" Warren cut him off. "You sure like to talk..."
'Oh, course I do!" Zackarias smirked. Warren blink a little. So friendly to a stranger... "Well nothin' goin' on. Just waitin' for the match to start. I saw you during both your matches. Nice moves." "Thanks. So what's your Deck?" Zack was curious.
"My deck's based around the Fire attribute." Warren answered. "How long you been a Duelist?" Warren shook his head a little at the question. "Nevermind me. How about you?"
"Oh! Ever since I was little! I just love this game! Shame its not as popular as it was in the past, apparently..."
Warren chuckled. "Yeah, people really got into it back then."
"Yo, Zack. Wha-huh?" Luke walked up, soon noticing Warren.
"And who's this?" he asked. "Oh! This is Warren! He's a Fire Duelist!" the two older Duelists then shook hands.
"Luke, the Rock Duelist right? I saw you beat the kid here. Nice work.", Warren complimented. "Hmph." Luke let out. Warren hadn't earned any respect yet.
Warren was a tad uncomfortable. "So uh, what prizes did you guys go for?" Luke held up the card with the two Black Lusters. "Cards are good enough for me. I don't need any petty money or whatever from that Professor."
"Good. I'd rather not pay you." Winter commented, having popped up out of nowhere. And before Luke could swing, he'd disappeared. And as Luke was growling, Warren held his card up, thinking Luke should calm down. "Money for me." T'was the treasure card. "Could use some cash like that."
The two then looked at the younger Duelist, waiting for his answer. "It's a secret~" The two kinda looked confused. Was it such a big deal. "Anyways you two have fun! You're such sticks in the mud, yeesh...", and like that, Zackarias was off. A bit later, he ran into Denzi, what fun!
The two seemed to really hit it off. Zack asked him the same questions he asked Warren, really. Denzi held up the blank card. "I'd love to have one of those Gold Spheres. The new rules are awesome!"
Denzi also explained how he had a Warrior Deck. Swords and all that. Plus, there were alot of Warrior cards, so making a Deck themed off 'em is pretty easy.
Just a couple minutes left... who else to interview but Wren! Zackarias scurried off to find her.
Okay so she just hit him and left, what a whore.
So let's go annoy the other Professor, Kai!
He was easy to find, and much to Zack's' surprise, Kai basically already knew everything about him.
"So uh, why aren't you in the tournament with Winter?", Zackarias asked. "Someone has to keep the system under check.", Kai replied. "Doesn't mean I don't play the game though."
Professor Kai then pulled out his Deck. "I mainly use Monarchs." "Monarchs?", Zack questioned. "They're Elemental Warrior monsters with powerful effects. I even had the very rare eighth one. But that's enough now. The match is about to begin."
Kai called it. Winter soon entered and called on Warren and Nathan. Both Duelists began walking to the Duel Arena, and the ones in the viewing room got ready to watch a match between two styles they hadn't seen yet. The two finally reached the stage and drew their cards, ready to Duel.

The life point counters filled up for both players, who then drew their starting hands of five cards. Warren was going first, so he drew first,. "I'll summon Fox Fire in defense mode!" And from a small flame a fox soon formed on the field. "Next, I'll equip it with the Necklace of Command!" the necklace dropped from the darkness around the fox's' neck. "Last, I'll set a face-down and end my turn." Nathan drew now. "Haha! I can take out that puny thing. I summon Tiger Axe!" And on Nathan's' field, a humanoid tiger with armor and an axe formed. "Destroy Fox Fire!", and with a swift attack, the Tiger did... Kind of. The Fox became flames, which just reformed into the fox. And also, the necklace equipped began to glow. "My Fox Fire has the ability to revive itself! And now that it's equipped with the Necklace of Command, I get to draw an extra card each time." Warren drew, and Nathan looked annoyed. "I end my turn then." Warren drew, confident. He'd gotton a great start. "Now to turn up the heat with the Ultimate Baseball Kid!" And no doubt, it appeared. "This guy gains power for each Fire type on the field. Even itself!" The baseball player's' power then rose to a mighty 2500. "Baseball Kid, destroy Tiger Axe!" and with ease, the Ultimate player crushed Tiger Axe, lowering Nathan's' life points to 800. Nathan was even more annoyed now. "I'm not done. Now I activate Level Limit - Area B!" A static field surrounded the Duel Arena. If this card did what Warren thought it did under the new rules, this match was all his. "I'll end with a second face-down. Your move." Nathan drew, still frustrated as ever. "I'll place a monster in defense mode and end my turn." Warren drew, then smirking devilishly upon seeing what he'd drawn. "This Duel is all mine! I summon Gaia Soul, the Combustible Collective!" The molten rock creature erupted from the ground, but as soon as it did, the static field affected it, lowering it to a level 3 monster, reducing its power a little. "So it does work like that now. Good to know.", Warren thought. "Alright, seeing at how Gaia can cause piercing damage... Gaia, end this!" The monster shot a stream of flames at the face-down card, roasting it to a crisp and lowering Nathan's' life points down to 0. After the ice knife pain, Nate pounded on the machinery and stomped off. "Yes, because that's a reasonable reaction.", Winter commented. As Nathan got back, the Duelists cheered for him on his quick defeat. Recess time came yet again, and all were back to their socializing. Winter was a tad disappointed. Not many notes to be taken this time.

The next match involved some dude named Xing... huh, interesting name. And of course, it was now Zackarias's' job to hunt down this person and annoy him to death. ...The guy wasn't hard to find. Dressed like that, he kinda stuck out. Xing eyed the oncoming kid and let out a sigh.
"No autographs, sorry." he said as soon as Zack reached him. The younger Duelist tilted his head in confusion. Xing was a tad relieved, at last, someone that wasn't a raving fanboy of his music! "So man, wassup?" Zackarias broke the ice and held his hand out. "I'm Zack, you're Xing right?"
"Yeah, pleasure." Xing shook the kid's' hand, and just as he did, both Duelists felt a shock, as though their very souls did a small clash. Both quick let go, then staring at their hands for a moment. "...Well that was weird. What do you specialize in?" This guy had a small attention span, apparently.
Xing did his best to shake the feeling off for now, then replying. "Oh, I use Archfiends and Darkworld cards." He then quickly changed the subject a little. "I saw you use a tad of your XYZ cards, nice plays." Zackarias grinned. "Thanks! So, you nervous about your match?"
"A little." and before more conversation could happen, Denzi showed up! "Hey Zack. Who's the weirdo?" Xing was a tad insulted by this biker-looking guy's' greeting. "Oh hey Denzi." Zack greeted. "This is Xing. He's an Archfiend guy." "Oh cool. Nice ta meetcha." Denzi said, as though Xing was perfectly content.
"Hi." Xing let out, eying Denzi a little. And Zackarias couldn't help but feel some deja vu here. "Well I'll see ya later." Denzi waved and walked off. "...Are you really just going to ignore that feeling?" Xing couldn't help but ask the person he'd shook hands with. Zack turned around and answered.
"Why worry about it? Maybe it was just some static cling or something? Not like it killed us or anything right?" "Hmm." Xing let out. "I just have a bad feeling." "Well relax!" Zackarias patted him on the shoulder. "Just be ready for the Duel ahead!" "Three second rule." Xing let out, pushing Zack off him.
Zackarias laughed a bit. "Well I'll leave ya alone to get ready now. Later man!" And he was off. "Interesting kid." Xing said, crossing his arms and leaning against the wall. Now who to bug... Hmm, can't think of anyone. Darn. Oh! Oh! I know! Let's see what the Professors are up to while Zack is bugging people!
Anyway, meanwhile. Professors Winter and Kai were making small talk in Winter's' office. "So, have you been analyzing why the pain happens to each loser?" Kai asked. "You really underestimate me sometimes Kai." Winter commented. "Of course I have, it's our job."
"Sadly, we've still yet to crack open the spheres. It doesn't help that half our staff is superstitious about these things. Hell I'm somewhat surprised you're still hanging around." Kai chuckled a little. "Well what can I say. These sort of things just interest me." Winter quit slouching in his chair.
"Cracking one of the things open is the only way we'll figure this thing out." He held his sphere he was using for the tournament, then spinning it on his finger. "Made of gold, yet every tool we try on it just breaks. I'm almost at my wits end." Kai shook his head a little. "I'm telling you, it's magic."
"Yes, and Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny exist." Winter snarked. "Whatever civilization made these must've been far ahead of their time." "Well whatever the case, the next match is about to start. So we should get going." Kai opened the door and walked out, Winter sighing and following behind.

Soon, Xing and Gabriel were called down for their match. The two Duelists walked with Winter down to the Dueling Arena, and both got to their respective sides as the rest of the Duelists watched from the viewing room. Both Duelists had a similar fashion sense, actually. Weird. Anyway, Xing took it upon himself to go first, drawing six cards to his hand. But before he went, something was odd here. Noone was cheering! He glanced toward the viewing glass, the other Duelists just staring at him back. "Do ANY of you know who I am!?" he called. The Duelists looked around confusedly. Were they supposed to? "I'm Xing!" Xing called. "Rock sensation?" There was a silence... Which suddenly broke with a "Boo." and a tomato beaning Xing in the back of the head. He turned to see who'd done it, but all he saw was a swinging door. Whoever did that is hereby awesome. But anyway, with a dreadful expression, Xing wiped himself clean and began the Duel, both life point counters filling to 2000. The first card Xing played was Terraforming. Soon, the whole field was engulfed in a strange light. But as soon as the light cleared, the field had become a dark and doom ridden place. Full of lightning and shifting land. Also, what looked like a sacrifice pillar stood in the center, how scary. Pandemonium had come down upon the Arena. "Well, that's kinda new.", Xing thought. He then set a face-down. "And now I summon Showknight Archfiend in attack mode!" And from the shadows formed a Fiendish Knight. How unexpected, right? "I end my turn." Gabriel drew. "You use Archfiends huh? Me too!" Xing was taken off a bit, this kinda put a hamper in his strategy. "Now!" came Gabriel. "Now I'll activate Senet Switch!" And like that, the floor of Pandemonium had become a chess board. "Huh?" Xing questioned. "You'll see." Gab replied. "Now I'll summon my own Shadowknight Archfiend!" Quite. Another of the monsters formed on the field, looking just like Xing's', not different in any way. "I'll end my turn at that." Xing drew while eyeing Gabriel a bit. He'd need to be a tad flexible with his plannings now. He started with Dian Keto, the Cure Master. And thus, a shower of small healing lights washed over him, making him feel more at ease, and raising his life points to 3000. He then laid another face-down. "And to finish up my turn, I sacrifice my Shadowknight Archfiend..." lightning began to strike around Xing's' field, soon striking his Shadowknight. "To call upon the Summoned Skull!" From another flash of lightning of a skeleton looking creatures, bio lightning going off all around it. "Destroy his Shadowknight! LIGHTNING STRIKE!" The Skull Archfiend obeyed, shooting a grand bolt of lightning straight at the Shadowknight... only for it to stop right infront of the Fiend. Xing's' eyes widened, a bit surprised. "YES!" Gabriel cheered. "I was hoping you'd call on a special power!" A die then dropped down and began to roll around wildly. "Thanks to that, I have a chance to survive!" the die then landed on 3. "Yes!" Time seemed to flow normally now. The Shadowknight absorbed the lightning into its blade, then flinging it right back at Summoned Skull, destroying it. And thanks to Pandemonium, Xing's' Shadowknight took the destroyed Archfiend's' place. Xing growled, then ended his turn. Meanwhile, in the viewing area, Warren was a tad confused, so he asked Winter what was up. Winter sighed. "You'd figure you obsessors would know your cards..." But he continued anyway. "Normally, Summoned Skull is a monster with no defining abilities. However..." "However?" Warren asked, wanting the Professor to go on. "Thanks to the new rules, Xing called upon the Skull's' latent abilities, causing it to become the Skull Archfiend of Lightning. A big mistake, as it allowed Gabriel's' Shadowknight to survive and counterattack." Warren nodded, now knowing what just happened. "Well thanks." he said, then backing off some.

Gabriel drew his next card and added it to his hand. He grinned widely upon seeing what it was. "Now to bring forth the big daddie himself! Terrorking Archfiend!" Soon a monster who looked like Summoned Skull's' snippety brother formed from the shadows and onto the chess board. "Sure, he can't destroy your Shadowknight, but I got a plan in mind. Just you wait." Gab nodded a bit to show his confidence. "I end my move here." Xing drew his next card. He knew about the Terrorking and the destruction it could bring. Not a good sign for him at all. Oh. He'd just have to move forward. Hmm, this gave Xing an idea. It was a stretch, but maybe with the new rules it'd work out. "Next I'll activate Field Barrier!" And as such, a forcefield of energy formed around the Dueling Arena, Duelists included. Neat. "And to end my turn, I'll set a monster in defense mode." Xing ended, Gabriel drew. "Now that's weird." Gab thought. "The guy has three of his magic and trap spaces filled now, and yet no activations. Something's up. Oh well." He began his turn. "I'll set a monster too! And now, Shadowknight Archfiend, attack his face-down!" The knight rushed forward, bringing his blade down... And it was caught by a creature who looked like the younger brother of the Skull family. Cyber Archfiend. The electric Archfiend tossed the Shadowknight back to its side of the field, and readied itself for another clash. Xing smirked at this. Now an effect from the Cyber Archfiend would be able to help him out. Gabriel didn't seem too worried. "Eh, I'll end my turn." "So now my Cyber's' normal effect kicks in!" Xing announced. "Since I have no cards in my hand, I get to draw two cards." He did so. Hey, not bad. "I'll set my final card. Now then, I summon Archfiend General!" This new guy was definitely better than the Terrorking. "Destroy him!" Xing ordered, and the General had no problem cleaving the Terrorking in two, lowering Gabriel's' life points to 1900. But, Gab still kept his same expression. "So can I go now or what?" "Fine." And with that, Gabriel drew. "I'll start by flipping over my Desrook Archfiend!" The creature rose from the ground, and from on top of it's' head, form the Terrorking Archfiend! The king was back in action, ready for battle. "My Desrook has some nice loyalty to the king." Gabriel explained as Xing growled a bit. "Now I play Double Summon!" A shocked expression came onto Xing's' face. "That's right! So now I get to call forth Infernalqueen Archfiend and Darkbishop Archfiend to my field!" The two creatures formed on the chess board. "And this is where I call on Senet Switch!" Gab soon rearranged all the creatures in a formation like that you'd see them on a chessboard. "And now... it's Checkmate!" As soon as the card was placed down, the Desrook, Shadowknight, Darkbishop, and Infernalqueen transfered their energies into the Terrorking, making him grow to great strength. "End this Duel! Destroy the Archfiend General!" "You've taken my bait!" Xing called, great confidence now seen within him. "Huh!?" Gab was taken by surprise. "I knew of your plan the whole time, Gabriel. The Field Barrier makes sure none can escape... Now it's time to turn Checkmate against you! I flip Sakuretsu Armor!" Like that, General gained a wicked looking torsoplate. "And now I flip Draining Shield!" General equipped a glowing shield, of which Terrorking impacted. "This combo allows General to drain Terrorking's' very life force!" And it did, adding Terrorking's' collective strength to General's'. A fierce monster was created indeed. "And last... I flip Hate Buster!" General then gained a kickass arm cannon. "And since your monsters all gave up their energies..." Gabriel's' expression widened, he knew what was coming. "End this Duel!" Archfiend General shot four mighty beams at all of the monsters, completely lighting up the field, and blasting Gabriel into the Field Barrier. The Duel ended, the effects dying down. Gab got up, now a tad week. "You had a great plan, good Dueling." Xing complimented, now near his opponent. "Yeah, you too!" He replied, rubbing the back of his head. The two returned to the viewing room, now greeting with cheers and praise of their own.

It was recess, and on a rare occurrence, Professor Winter was walking around the room. He really had nothing better to do. And Professor Kai was off doing... whatever the hell he did when he was alone. Wasn't exactly something Winter wanted to think about. It was soon that the Professor spotted Denzi.
"Ah, just the one I was looking for." He said, approaching the Duelist. "Oh hey Prof! Wassu-OW!" Denzi was cut off by a small thwat to the head. "What was that for!?" "Idiot." Winter continued. "You made a horrid mistake during your match with Wren." "Huh?"
"At its top level, Mystic Swordsman gains the ability to return cards to the Deck. Had you used it, you would've demolished her plan, and won much sooner." "Ah, whadda you care!" Denzi snapped. "I don't. I'm just saying." Winter continued with a neutral attitude. "If you want to get far in this tournament then you can't afford to make rookie mistakes like that."
"Gah. Alright. Jeez." Denzi got done rubbing his head and gave Winter a straight face. "Long as you understand." It was at about this time that Xing walked up. "Ah, you're Xing, another Duelist that chose the blank card, right?" Xing nodded, also holding up his card. "Well what do you want?"
"I wanna know who threw that friggen tomato." It was at this point Denzi slipped away. "I don't know. It was at an angle our security cameras don't cover." Of course the Prof was lying. The moment was just too funny to give away. "Hmph!" And like that, Xing left. "Duelists nowadays..." the Professor sighed.

The two Duelists, Luke and Skye, eventually made their ways to the Dueling Arena. And like the start of all Duels, the two competitors drew their five card hands and their life point meters filled to 2000. "You may begin when ready." Winter said over the microphone, then leaning back in his chair. Everyone had high expectations for this Duel. Luke had shown himself to be a great Duelist, and noone had seen this Skye person in action, thus giving way for an interesting match. But probably the one most interested was Zackarias. "Come on, Luke." he thought. "You can crush this guy. Or do you wanna show that you won by pure luck?" As the light gray haze encircled the field, Luke stared his opponent down a bit. Couldn't' quite see his face. Oh well. "I'll go first." Luke drew a card and added it to his hand. After some small thinking, he had his move. "I'll start by activating the Field Spell Gaia Power!" Laying the card down, two gigantic trees soon shot up from the sides of the field. "Next I'll summon the Giant Rat!" A large and menacing blue rat soon burrowed out from under the ground, and thanks to Gaia Power, its strength increased nicely. "I'll end my turn with a face-down. It's your move." Skye drew their next card as the image of the face-down formed. "Okay then!" Skye's' face was soon revealed, being of a girl with a similar hair color to Luke. Luke couldn't help but be a tad surprised. You didn't see many girl Duelists nowadays, then again there weren't many Duelists period, so... "I'll place a face-down too!" Skye started. "And now I'll play the Royal Magical Library!" Now Winter was interested. This girl had made an interesting move. Suddenly, Gaia Power was turned into an orb of green light, then hovering high above the field. The Library had been played as a Field Spell, causing it to soon surround the Arena. Another green orb soon appeared, the two ball of light then circling around eachother in the air above the field. "Ha! I knew it's work!" Skye cheered. "Now I set a monster. Your turn!" Well, there went the Gaia Power strategy. After drawing, Luke switched Giant Rat to defense mode. "Now to get rid of this Library. I activate Heavy Storm!" However, as soon as the card formed on the field, it too was turned into a green sphere, and snatched up by the Library. The three orbs rotating in the air, Luke couldn't help but feel frustrated. So since it seemed Magic cards were useless for now, he'd have to work around that. "I flip my trap, Needlebug Nest!" Soon, four Needle Worms appeared on Luke's' field, ready to strike. Well, that was a new effect. As soon as the four insects rushed at Skye, she too, flipped a trap! "I flip Royal Command!" Skye held her hand out dramatically as the card flipped up. The rushing Needle Worms were then reflected, speed straight at Luke's' deck. The Duelist's' face widened as each Worm impacted, discarding five cards from his Deck each. That was twenty cards! Now half his deck was gone! Winter however, couldn't help but be a tad impressed. Whoever this girl was, she'd done her research on Luke. "Thanks to the new rules, Royal Command reflects all flip effect monsters." Skye explained. "And your Needle Worms were perfect targets." Angry, Luke made his last move for his turn. "I sacrifice Giant Rat in order to call forth Hieracosphinx!" As such, the mighty creature rose from the ground. "Now destroy her face-down!" Skye's' Emperor Sem was easily destroyed. After that, Luke mearly set a face-down and ended his turn.
