They ate in silence for a while, but when Rua finished up, he had a thoughtful frown on his face. He wanted to ask something, but was hesitant. After a while, he finally decided to go with it.
"They showed me that they kept the Lumiya program after they removed it from me," Rua started, renewing the conversation.

Gahm had just opened his mouth to put a mushroom in it. He froze. He put the food back and spoke: "You wish to have it back?" He asked kindly.

"Not particularly," Rua said honestly, "But if something really is wrong with Ymaggion, I might need it back."

Gahm stared at the ground for a moment. "Well, we did take it out of the game, but it still exists on a disc we keep somewhere safe." He smiled sadly. "Safe from any sentient digital beings at least."

Rua nodded. "I know, they showed me the disk."
He thought for a moment, then shuddered. "The last thing we'd want to see is someone like Kuro or Ziatoch getting their hands on Lumiya. Though I'm not so sure they could use it," he said, remembering something that the programmers told him about the weapon.

"Because they prefer the Lance of Longinus?" Gahm asked friendly. He wasn't told everything that happened considering the game, since it was just too much.

"Nah, Lumiya's stronger than the Lance," Rua said with a chuckle, "That antivirus program you made, Ondal? He said outside of the game that Lumiya was now specifically tuned to my body, and that no one else could wield it."
Rua looked down the side of the Peak.
"I'd rather not take the chance on finding out if that's true, so putting it on a disk was a good call."

Gahm smiled. "Well, as long as Kuro or his band of merry malices become able to change their body data wholely so that they can wield it, I suppose we could also keep it within the game, so that we could bring it to you quicker, should you need it."
"But... Ondal outside of the game?" Gahm asked beweirded. "What do you mean by that?"

"He was made using the sentience program that all NPCs use now," Rua explained, "And as a result he was able to communicate with me over a computer."
Rua grinned a little, "While I might've been a little antagonistic towards him over the course of the beta test, I am grateful to him. Turns out he was the one who saved my life during that fiasco of when I tried to unlock the Fourth Cipher."
Rua frowned as he remembered what happened. Unlocking two Ciphers at the same time damn near killed him... and it wiped out the entire army that forced him to unlock it.

"Ah yes, indeed." Gahm remembered now. His face slowly turned grave. "I sure do hope we didn't use that same technology with Kuro and Ziatoch and all those. My mind is a little foggy there. We did use some kind of program to make them 'human', to give them free will, but..."

"I don't know about Kuro, but don't worry about Ziatoch. He was a virus, and the personal brainchild of Kuro. About as dangerous as him, too," Rua reassured Gahm.

"Ehhh..." Gahm scratched the back of his head. "I'm not so sure about that. Sure, most of our tries to create the Evil Balance resulted in failure, until Kuro's creation, but..." He suddenly stopped. "I've said too much." He said, standing up. "I'm sorry, I think I've stayed here for too long."

Rua frowned as Gahm stood. He looked at Gahm hard, knowing he was now hiding something, but knew he wouldn't be able to get the information out of him through force--Gahm would be able to tear him apart.
"What exactly do you mean by that?" he asked softly.

Gahm smiled a little nervously, trying to ease down what he had just said. "I'm sorry I'm going to leave you just like this, Rua. What I mean is that I have to go as soon as possible."

"I'm not buying that," Rua said softly; a sure sign he was getting agitated.
