Artifact/Weapon Name: Heaven’s Forge
Wielder: Michael Saint
Type of Artifact/Weapon: Metalworking Forge (note, must be transported by vehicle, ideally a large cargo-truck.)
Appearance of Artifact/Weapon: The forge is actually an ensemble of equipment pieces. The first, and arguably the most important piece is the anvil, which is made of titanium, it has a length of two feet, a width of ten inches, and a height of three feet.
Along with the anvil are the tongs used to hold the item being worked on, these are two feet long and also made of titanium. After the tongs come the chisels, each of varying size but all with the same purpose in mind, to cut away excess detritus and leave a smooth, clean finished edge to the product. Next comes the cooling tub, which is a simple titanium bucket, large enough to hold a man, and roughly two feet deep, this is almost always filled with water and is used to cool the burning hot metal.
Along with these aforementioned items are the various molds for different weapons and pieces of armor. Lastly, there is the furnace, this is the largest and easily most impressive part of the ensemble, it stands near six feet tall, and looks somewhat like a large oil-drum held on stilts, it is gas-powered and can easily reach the temperatures needed to forge metal.
All of these tools fit into a large transport truck, and are bolted to the floor so as not to tip over. (Note, I included the entire smithy in one template because I didn’t think I should do a different sheet for each tool)
Origin of Artifact/Weapon: Heaven’s forge was originally created to arm special angel units with anti-demonic weapons. And it served for many years in that capacity.
However, the Demons, realizing that the forge was a great weapon against them, strove to remove it from the face of the world. And they nearly succeeded in doing so. In a particularly bloody battle, the angel’s guarding the forge were destroyed, and to make sure that the forge was not perverted by the dark powers, the forge was bombed from strike aircraft, killing all creatures near it. However, the forge itself survived inside of its transport, and lay dormant for many years.
It eventually found it’s way to a scrapyard, where a new player, and aspiring blacksmith named Michael Saint, found and purchased it. Once he started using it he realized that it was no ordinary forge, that it produced arms and armor of unprecedented strength and quality, he studied it for a time and decided it must be the fabled Heaven’s Forge, and attempted to return it to the angels.
They refused however, some thought it was because they were arrogant, but the truth of the matter was they had never been able to use the forge as Michael had, and wished to see what would happen as he continued to use it. It has been in his possession since that day.
Special Abilities of the Artifact/Weapon:
The forge itself has no exceptional qualities, though as it’s mostly made of titanium it is quite hard to destroy. The power of the forge lies in the arms and armor it is used to create.
As a general rule, all weapons and armor made by the forge are high-quality items that serve their masters well in battle. But there are a few special characteristics that belong to Heaven-forged weapons and armor.
Weapons made from the forge do greater damage against demons and dark creatures, the weapons themselves burst into holy flame in times of danger (which coincidentally, makes for excellent sources of light). When in this form, the weapons have been known to simply light demons on fire when they come into contact with their flesh, a fire so hot it can not be extinguished without the use of massive healing abilities.
All armor made by the forge is inherently stronger against dark energies and power. Even the most damaging of dark spells are halved in power by coming into contact with the armor. Also, if a lower-level demon or “evil” creature touches the armor with it’s bare hands, they will catch fire.
